TomoChain (TOMO) | Vietnam - Educational Credentials on Blockchain

Blockchain receives a boost in Vietnam as the country discloses plans to launch and store educational credentials on popular PoS public blockchain, TomoChain (TOMO).

TomoChain (TOMO) will help ensure educational credentials remain trusted, unalterable, and authentic. Therefore, to a large extent reducing all forms of educational fraud.

The importance of education cannot be over-emphasized. Sadly, there is also a disturbing increase in all forms of educational malpractices, and fraud. Vietnam has, however, taken a step forward in its fight against educational credentials fraud. The country has elicited the support of TomoChain to store and secure its educational credential. TomoChain’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain is also well-known for its top-notch transparency, efficiency, and security.

Details of the Partnership

The partnership is between TomoChain and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). Interestingly, the partnership between TomoChain and MOET was first announced in November 2020. Following the announcement, TomoChain furthermore successfully developed the National Qualifications Archive (NQA) system. The system is custom-made to secure diplomas, certificates, and all forms of educational credentials for Vietnam on the TomoChain public chain.

On June 21, 2021, Vietnam’s MOET issued Dispatch No.2540. The dispatch ordered all universities, academics, provincial departments of education, and training to include their data on NQA.

According to the dispatch, educational credentials like high school, graduate, postgraduate, IT, and foreign language, certificates dating from 2018 to 2020 must all be updated on the NQA system. All these updates must be completed by the latest of August 18, 2021.

Speaking on the announcement, TomoChain CEO and Founder, Long Vuong, disclosed that he was pleased by the partnership with the Vietnamese government. Adding that, he was also pleased that “[…] Vietnam’s thought leaders understand and value the benefits of blockchain and the need for its implementation.”

The introduction of blockchain technology is an incredible way to ensure security and integrity in Vietnam’s educational sector.

About the National Qualifications Archive (NQA) System

The National Qualifications Archive (NQA) system is one the foremost example of blockchain usage on a national level. Vietnam is also one of the first countries to understand the importance of blockchain technology and the benefits embedded in this technology. The NQA designed by TomoChain contains important features like a multi-layer system of automatic verification. This, in turn, helps to improve accuracy, and also mitigate against forgery.

The NQA system will also reduce administrative bureaucracy and the need for physical paperwork. Therefore, saving time and costs as educational credentials need not be verified manually.

The NQA system functions by encrypting educational credentials and securely storing them at both MOET, and on TomoChain. Every certificate issued will be equipped with a unique code which will also be published on TomoChain. Any changes to the documents can then be easily traced and even restored when necessary.

The Vietnamese government can also be safely considered as one of the first adopters of blockchain technology. Interestingly, the technology is listed as one of its official list of prioritized technologies for research, and development.

At the time of publication, TOMO was trading at $1.66 with a 24-hour trading volume of $13,956,581. The token price is up 2.1% over the last 24 hours.
