Security token platform tZero, founded by Overstock, a rival to eCommerce giant Amazon, announced yesterday that an Android version of its recently launched cryptocurrency mobile app is now available.

Overstock’s tZERO already announced in March this year that it was planning to release its own mobile crypto trading app this summer. After first launching the iOS version of the app, the mobile wallet and trading app is now also available on Android.

tZERO CEO Saum Noursalehi said about the Android launch:

“We are excited to bring our platform to Android users, which we believe will significantly expand our user-base. The accessibility of the tZERO Crypto App is critical in our plan to provide an intuitive trading experience for all digital assets”

Besides buying, selling, sending, receiving, and storing cryptocurrencies, the crypto app also offers several advanced security features. These features include biometric authentication. Furthermore, there are also plans to utilize a private key recovery system to allow users to restore their assets in the event that they lose their private keys or mobile phone.

Overstock.com is a tech-driven online retailer based in Salt Lake City, Utah that sells a broad range of products in the latest trends, including furniture, decor, rugs, bedding, and home improvement, all at the lowest prices. The company got founded in 1999 by the current CEO, Patrick Byrne.

Byrne is a big fan of cryptocurrency. The CEO announced in November of 2018 that he was planning to sell Overstock in 2019 to go for a full-blown bet on blockchain. Overstock decided to get out of the retail business and into blockchain because blockchain is a rapidly growing opportunity and retail is increasingly competitive and challenging
