The Button Wallet has joined the mass adoption crew and it now allows users on telegram to purchase cryptocurrencies using fiat.

The Button Wallet allows users on the telegram app to send crypto to any friend using their username along with messages. It’s the Venmo of cryptocurrencies. Buy and sell cryptocurrencies and exchange crypto for another cryptocurrency, it isn’t an atomic swap, however. The new fiat purchase update will allow its 2,000 active users to do so. Telegram is full of scammers and I have yet to experience one asking to send crypto via the button wallet. Even though they have a low user base, the team continues to build out its wallet and apparently they have one for Discord.

Thanks to Wyre, the fiat purchases function was implemented into the wallet. Wyre helps developers use several tools to help them build out their projects. They claim to be “World-class tools for blockchain developers, financial services and protocols.” Wyre’s director of institutional sales told coindesk: “At Wyre, we’re on a mission to help lower the barriers to entry for crypto platforms by offering them compliant ports into a regulated fiat world.”

Rachael McCrary the chief operating officer of Button Wallet claims “You need to make it easier for people to buy in… we’re just a software company giving people another option.”

The Button wallet currently holds partnerships with Changelly, Waves, Stellar, and MakerDao. Changelly provides the liquidity for Button’s users to do crypto to crypto trades. Stellar is one of the cryptocurrencies you can exchange on the wallet.

Do you use the telegram app? How about the Button Wallet?
