As of July 15th, CFTC Chairman Christopher Giancarlo stepped down at his position and Dr. Heath Tarbert replaced him. This is a sad day for the entire cryptocurrency space as Christopher Giancarlo was nicknamed CryptoDad for his pro-cryptocurrency words and actions.
Dr. Heath Tarbert has taken over for Christopher Giancarlo, a.k.a. CryptoDad, as CFTC Chairman. While we are all sad that he is leaving, it is inevitable that eventually, that would become the reality.

Christopher Giancarlo will always be remembered for his explanation of the HODL mentality during the US Senate Committee on Banking in February 2018 (watch the full testimony here).
SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce joined the crowd thanking the former Chairman by posting a funny but sincere tweet to her comrade by saying she is now “a single Mom.”
