This service democratizes staking by enabling users to contribute to Ethereum’s security with any amount of ETH.
It bypasses the previous requirement of a minimum of 32 ETH to participate in staking validators operated by Consensys.
Before this, staking in Consensys validators required at least 32 ETH, as per Ethereum’s protocol. However, blockchain data indicates that 99% of ETH holders possess less than this amount. MetaMask’s Pooled Staking enables more users to stake ETH and earn rewards, irrespective of their ETH holdings.
MetaMask Pooled Staking: Accessible ETH Staking for All Users
According to its blog post, MetaMask Pooled Staking is immediately available to a portion of eligible users and will continue rolling out in the coming days. Initially, unavailable in the US or UK, but Consensys aims to expand availability soon.
