brave partners with binance

Binance crypto exchange has announced a strategic partnership with the privacy-focused Brave browser.

According to an official blog post by the browser, the alliance is aimed at facilitating the sale and purchase of crypto assets on the Binance platform. With this collaboration, Brave becomes the first-ever browser to integrate crypto trading features. Users can now easily do cryptocurrency transactions while surfing the web. This is great news and will likely lead to greater crypto adoption.

Modus operandi

Brave users will have direct access to Binance without having to leave the browser. A Binance widget on Brave Nightly web will facilitate this feature. The Nightly web is a version of the Brave browser that is still in testing. The browser gets updated every night, hence the name ‘Nightly’.

For now, Brave has released only an early version of this widget. The main version is expected to go live in April for desktops. Mobile version launch is still in the planning stage. The Binance-branded widget can currently be found below the browser rewards widget and is linked directly to Binance.com for non-US and Binance.US for US customers.

The most fascinating aspect of the new widget is that the users will get direct access to the Binance website. If a user connects the browser to his Binance account, he would also be able to carry out activities like trading, balance check, account details, etc without leaving the browsers.

What the new partners said

Speaking on the partnership, co-founder and Brave CEO, Brendan Eich, pointed out that the widget was mainly designed for crypto trading. He mentioned that the current version will be missing some features available on Binance. Eich, however, assured the widget would make available all trading pairs on the crypto trading platform.

Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, described the widget as safe and easy to use. He also pointed out that the alliance between the two parties looked forward to make crypto trading a smooth experience.  “We are looking forward to our long-term partnership with Brave to make it easier to interact with crypto and encourage more utility in the near future”, he added.

Brave is user-centric

Brave has immense popularity for being a user-centric browser. Though the widget will be automatically enabled in Brave, users have the option to easily disable it in the settings, if they are not interested.

The browser has openly expressed its interest in cryptocurrency and has already launched its own token known as Basic Attention Token (BAT). The browser plans to support other cryptos like Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Litecoin in the near future.
