Southampton FC Sponsorship Deal Adds Bitcoin (BTC) Bonuses

Southampton Football Club, the English Premier League team, has announced the extension of its partnership with Coingaming Group for three more years. With this partnership, Sportsbet.io continues as the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor.

The partnership will include the option of Southampton FC receiving certain performance-based bonuses to be paid in Bitcoin (BTC). Therefore, giving the football club the opportunity to make the most of the highest valued cryptocurrency and secure significant benefits.

According to report, it’s the biggest sponsorship agreement in the club’s history. Importantly, its performance-based bonuses in Bitcoin (BTC) are payable at the end of each season. It also makes Southampton one of the first sports teams in England to embrace Bitcoin (BTC). The main crypto push for most teams at the moment is to release fan tokens, usually with Chiliz.

The partnership allows Sportsbet.io continue with the work it’s started with the football club over the last year. The brand has reportedly been actively involved in creating a positive impact in the local community and stating the importance of safe betting.

Southampton Football Club’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), David Thomas, commented on the new sponsorship package. He said, “The team at Sportsbet.io have built a successful business by challenging convention and disrupting the market, but in a responsible way, and their approach to our partnership with them has been no different.”

The CEO of the Coingaming Group, Maarja Pärt, also commented. She said, “Our first season as Southampton FC’s Main Club Partner has already exceeded all expectations. We’ve been inspired by the passion of the club and its fans, and it was an easy decision for us to extend our partnership with the Saints for another three years.”

Sportsbet.io’s Track Rcord With Southampton FC

Sportsbet.io carried out a “Listen To The Saint In You” campaign that was launched during Safer Gambling Week. They involved the club’s players in encouraging fans to be careful about the risks before placing a bet.

Besides, they had a key role in the club’s launch of the Positive Impact Pledge. It was aimed to help start-ups and entrepreneurs apply for grants to help set up their businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, Sportsbet.io donated their shirt sponsorship to the Saints Foundation for the Premier League match against Burnley. The aim was to help drive awareness of the Foundation’s fundraiser, which was geared towards raising funds lost during the pandemic. The awareness raised thousands of pounds for the Foundation on the day of the match. The amount was also increased by Sportsbet.io when it donated the sum of £10,000.

“From the beginning, Southampton have been a perfect match for the fun, fast and fair way we do things at Sportsbet.io. We can’t wait to continue this journey with the Saints, and we’ll be doing everything we can to support the team and its community into the future,” Pärt said.
