These sectors are great for future job opportunities. The Philippines government is making its youngsters aware of blockchain and NFT tech. So, let’s take a closer look at this blockchain and NFT training.
Teaching Philippine Youngsters About the Blockchain and NFT Sectors
The Philippine DOST-ASTI invited Philippine youngster to its recent tech forum. The DOST-ASTI is the Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute. This forum was on 20th September.

The forum highlighted the potential that blockchain technology has. Topics covered during this tech forum, included, among others,
- Cryptocurrencies.
- Blockchain technology.
- The NFT sector.
The agency mentions that the private and public sectors are being reshaped. At the forefront of new technologies, you can find AI, cybersecurity, and blockchains. These are having an impact on the way public and private and public institutions operate.
Roxanne S. Aviñante is a senior scientific research expert at DOST-ASTI. She explained that the blockchain and NFT sectors will give future job opportunities.

Blockchain and NFT Use Cases
The forum emphasized blockchain and NFT use cases. Aviñante placed blockchain tech as an emerging sector with high job potential. Considering how much Filipino’s already like blockchain gaming, this fits right in. Instead of playing games, youngsters can now also consider developing games.
Marc Jerome T. Tulali, another DOST-ASTI specialist, also added his point of view. He explained how NFT and blockchain tech have real-world use cases. Besides gaming and crypto, you can look at, for example,
- Tracking of goods in the supply chain.
- Voting.
- ID opportunities and more.
He also mentioned SIERRA (Self-Sovereign Identity Empowerment: Reinventing Rights and Attributes). This is a new blockchain-based system for managing intellectual property. It’s currently still under development.
Other use cases were also highlighted to the students, including:
- Entertainment
- Healthcare.
- Government and public sector.
- Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
- Decentralized finance (DeFi).
- Identity and physical infrastructure, like DePIN.
To sum up, the Philippine government started to inform its youngsters in new sectors. These include blockchain and NFT tech. The DOST-ASTI takes a leading role in this.
