As part of a move to encourage shoppers, Alibaba partnered with Lolli, allowing its shoppers to earn 5% back in BTC. Lolli announced the collaboration through its official website on the Chinese ‘Singles Day’ celebration (Nov/11).

Thus, the Chinese e-commerce giant users can now obtain Satoshis, worth 0.00000001 BTC, when shopping, Lolli said. A shopping holiday equivalent to Black Friday has become the world’s largest online shopping day. With a new world record of $38 billion in trade transactions taken place on Monday.

To remind, Lolli signed a partnership with Alibaba. It includes it to the list of brands they currently work with. Lolli works with over 500 partners currently including Walmart, Toms, Hilton, AirBnB, etc. This partnership will allow US-based users who make a purchase on Alibaba to earn 5% back in BTC.

Alex Adelman, CEO of Lolli, expressed his excitement on the new partnership with the e-commerce giant. Adding “the opportunity Lolli is rolling out for shoppers will benefit both parties.”

“This is a milestone partnership for Lolli as Alibaba is the largest retailer and e-commerce company in the world, launching on Single’s Day, the world’s largest shopping day of the year,” he said.

Giveaway available to only US-based shoppers

The new initiative will only be available for users in the United States. They can make purchases with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin cash through MoonPay and get a 4% BTC back.

Aubrey Strobel, Lolli’s head of communications, stated China-based residents will not be able to enjoy this giveaway. And products purchased will be shipped from China to the US for shoppers.

CEO Adelman added that the BTC app intends to expand globally by 2020, emphasizing on the importance of the collaboration. Adding “this is the best way to begin our expansion mission”. Clearly, they are seizing the opportunity to grow their users.
