Crypto startup “Pay with Moon” can now process your transactions and help you buy goods off e-commerce sites like Amazon. Thanks to its browser extension, your lightning network wallet can use Bitcoin to pay for goods.
“Pay with Moon” has enabled a browser extension that can be used to purchase goods from e-commerce sites. All lighting enabled wallets can be used through Moon’s extension to pay online using Bitcoin. Users connect their browser extensions to their Coinbase accounts to help process the transactions.
E-commerce sites like Amazon won’t receive crypto as the payment, instead, they receive fiat because the backend processes the transactions and converts the crypto into dollars. Are you curious about how the check out works? Here’s what Ken Kruger, the CEO of “Pay with Moon”, said in an interview:
“[The extension] will pop up a QR code and it will have the lightning invoice, which you could also copy and paste if you can’t use the QR code for some reason, and you’ll be able to pay with your favorite lightning wallet.”
Sadly, “Pay with Moon” has no direct partnership with e-commerce giants like Amazon. They do however receive a cut from the same transaction fee that visa and MasterCard get when credit card transactions take place. “Pay with Moon” raised $100,000 through an accelerator and was able to achieve such a tremendous technological feat. This proves that millions of dollars aren’t needed when the mission is sincere and direct.
