There is one thing in life that is constant, and that is change. Everything is changing all the time. Now, you can either embrace the change, or the world will leave you behind. This is the same in marketing. As a result, we see plans for advertising in a digital world, the metaverse.
Unsupervised published the results of their survey about future marketing. It shows some exciting news for the metaverse and the crypto space. Let’s dig in and find out what the survey has to say about metaverse marketing.
Marketing in the Metaverse
Marketing in the Metaverse is a hot topic. However, for many marketing people, not their first choice. For instance, this survey looked into the perspective of new versus older marketers.
Now, the media world is always on the move. There are probably few other workplaces that see as many changes.
Once you’re an established marketer, it may be more difficult to embrace these changes. Nonetheless, the survey shows that 61% of all marketers want a brand presence in the metaverse in 2022. Surprisingly, this number included more old hand marketers compared to newer ones. Experience with 6 years or more led this charge, with 64% over 53% who have less than two years experience.
It may come as no surprise that social media and content marketing are still in the lead for marketers.
So, it’s fascinating that also 57% want to include cryptocurrencies in their campaigns. On top of this, one in four saw options to monetize NFTs in their campaigns.
Blockchain Metaverse Marketing
The metaverse is already here, and it keeps growing. Lots of marketing is already going on. However, not all of that is blockchain-based. The big traditional games are not blockchain-based yet. Nonetheless, they attract some big brand names. For instance, Wendy’s and Balenciaga participated in Fortnite. Warner Bros. dipped their toes in Roblox with a virtual party to promote a movie.
However, in the blockchain metaverses, we also see some cool marketing efforts. Of all brands, you can find the largest US bank, JPMorgan Chase, back in Decentraland. They opened a lounge called ‘The Onyx’. On the other hand, fashion brands are hopping on this bandwagon. Louis Vuitton and Burberry both had games with NFTs in them.
Currently, the three best blockchain metaverse for marketing are:
- Decentraland
- The Sandbox
- Bloktopia
Conclusion
For marketers, it is important to remain flexible. They need to adapt and embrace change. As a result, we see a high percentage of marketers that will include the metaverse in their strategies. Furthermore, cryptocurrencies and NFTs are also in their cross-eyes. It shows that these boys and girls are on the ball. They recognize the endless opportunities these spaces offer for marketing.
