Chiliz looks to expand into the US with new partnership

Chiliz is once again making more moves as American sports fans could soon be able to experience blockchain fan tokens.

Chiliz has partnered with the prominent global sports marketing agency, Lagardere Sports and Entertainment. Lagardere has a huge presence in the US and this collaboration will build bridges for Chiliz to link up with major sports leagues such as the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB).

Chilliz Partnerships

Chiliz already has massive partnerships with big sports clubs such as Juventus, PSG, West Ham, Roma. They recently announced a partnership with Star-studded Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona as well. The partnerships don’t stop at sports, they extended to venturing into eSports and other blockchain projects as well. Two-time Dota 2 champions(OG) and leading blockchain gaming project, Enjin, is also part of the partner’s list.

Alex Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, said:  “The strong presence of Lagardere Sports in the U.S., especially in NFL and MLB, will help Chiliz to have a footprint for the first time. Our existing portfolio with FC Barcelona gives us a strong leadership in the U.S., but we want to start to go to the next stage by onboarding U.S.-facing sports in the next few months. This partnership will help, as some others that will be announced.”

The Socios platform, Chiliz’s fan interaction application, has garnered over 120k users and will continue to grow as more clubs and partners hop on. Lagardere saw over $435 million in annual profits at the end of Q3 2019 and has contracts with athletes in the NFL, MLB and professional golf. It will be interesting to see how this partnership grows and what other major clubs Chiliz is able to include.
