Pornhub Adds New Payment Options

Adult entertainment website, Pornhub announced the addition of Tether (USDT) stablecoin to its payment options.

According to the official post, Pornhub decided to add such an option after terminating its collaboration with PayPal. The latter reportedly hit the entertainment platform with a huge setback last year, blocking its transactions. Including those related to their contracted performers. This decision reportedly affected the livelihood and revenue stream of about 100,000 adult film actors.

Sequel to the incident, Pornhub set out seeking a solution to the problem and the adult entertainment website reached an agreement with two new payout options. They include Tether (USDT), a stablecoin pegged to the U.S Dollar, and Cosmo. A corresponding Twitter post reads, “Heads up Models! We just added USDT, @CosmoPayment & more to our Payment Method options!”

USDT and TRONlinlk

In the blog post, the company also claimed that USDT and TRON blockchain both partnered to introduce new payment options on Pornhub. The payment process also utilizes TRONlink, a cryptocurrency wallet for settlements. The post reads, “USDT transactions can be done globally within a few seconds and there are no fees. Since USDT and TRON blockchain has partnered up, we can now pay Models securely through TRONlink, a cryptocurrency wallet.”

Besides, the CEO of TRON, Justin Sun made comments about TRONlink’s involvement with the adult entertainment website through the USDT. He said that Pornhub’s decision to add USDT via TRONLink is a brilliant way to support the victims of centralized payment platforms like PayPal.

Other payment options

Besides, Pornhub lauded the attributes of the Cosmos platform saying that it’s free, safe, and offers global access. This means users of the platform get to withdraw it from their local ATMs. As well as, make online, in-store purchases (wherever there’s debit and credit cards acceptance), and view your bank statements online or with the Cardportal app.

Furthermore, the platform mentioned the option of direct deposit. It reportedly works only for Australian or Puerto Rican addresses and for bank accounts in AUD or USD respectively.

Notably, the website already supports the use of Verge cryptocurrency as a payout option.
