apple vr crypto

We’ve seen a lot of narratives in the crypto market this year. By that, we mean crypto tokens driven by trends in a specific sector. At the start of the year, we had the AI narrative, which is still ongoing. Lately, there’s been the Chinese narrative, which we’ve covered extensively.

However, the latest narrative is sparked by Apple. The iPhone maker will announce the launch of its highly anticipated AR/VR headset on June 5th, and there’s been a lot of buzz around it, especially in the crypto community. There is one crypto project that could gain a lot of hype. Let’s discover which one is.

RNDR Is the Crypto Trojan Horse Behind Apple’s Vrs Launch?

Some of the capabilities of the headset include eye and hand tracking, an operating system called xrOS for FaceTime conversations, reading books from Apple Books, playing games, and an additional battery pack. This, along with a potential price tag of $3,000, points to Apple making a significant effort to increase its influence in the metaverse.

Interestingly, the headset has triggered a new wave of growth for some crypto projects.

Render Protocol’s RNDR token surged 8% following reports that Apple would launch a Mixed-Reality headset. Apple’s AR/VR headset will trigger demand for Render’s decentralized GPU solution. Investors are already placing their bets on RNDR before the launch on June 5th.

Why is RNDR soaring?

The Render Network was launched in April 2017. The project simply allows users to contribute spare GPU power for the rendering of visual effects, motion graphics, and visual effects. Render works similarly to Airbnb, where people rent out their spare rooms. But this time, users are to rent their spare GPU in exchange for the RNDR token, Render’s native token.

RNDR plays a huge role within the Render network. It used to pay for:

  • Motion graphics.
  • Animation.
  • VFX rendering on the network.

You can say that RNDR powers all products released by the Render network.

So, Render offers a peer-to-peer service to allow companies and regular users to access unused processing resources to aid in rendering and streaming 3D environments. With Apple’s VR headset launching on June 5th, there’s going to be a huge demand for GPU rendering, which is what the Render Network offers. This also means that the $RNDR token has a promising future.

Render recently released the OctaneX app on MI and M2 iPads, leading to speculation that the creators of the new VR headsets could use the Render network. The OctaneX provides photo-realistic 3D rendering on M1 and M2 iPads.

Render’s association with Apple is a huge reason for the token’s rise. As of this article, RNDR trades at $2.69. Apple’s VR headset will most like impact sectors like gaming and the metaverse.

What Are We to Expect from the Launch?

There are likely scenes that could play out following the launch of Apple’s VR headset. The most obvious is a revival of interest in the metaverse. There’s a likelihood that people will once again turn to the metaverse and we could see a boom in prices.

Asides from the Render Protocol, there are other projects that can benefit from Apple’s VR. Here’s a look at some of them.

a) MANA (Decentraland)

Decentraland is one of the biggest metaverse projects. The Ethereum-based project provides a platform where people can buy and sell digital real estate. Decentraland is still grooming its VR capabilities. There’s a possibility that MANA could see a huge increase in price following the launch.

2) Wilder World

Wilder World is an immersive art gallery or marketplace. Interestingly, Wilder World is one of the metaverse projects that pumped ahead of Apple’s big announcement. There’s good reason to watch out for this project.

3) Vulcan Forged

Vulcan Forged is a non-fungible token (NFT) game studio, marketplace, and dApp incubator. There are about 10 games in the ecosystem. Vulcan Forged is based on the Ethereum blockchain. In addition, the project rewards gamers with its native PYR token. You can use the PYR to pay fees and perform other actions on the game.

Vulcan is among the projects we believe could profit from Apple’s launch. It performed well during the metaverse narrative. But remember, this list isn’t investment advice. We strongly advise that you do your own research before diving into any of them.
