Three Protocol aims to build decentralized versions of our favorite legacy Web2 apps. Their first app, Jobs3, is a decentralized version of Fiverr. And as you might expect, it’s getting traction fast. But Jobs3 is not the only thing they have going on.
Let’s see what’s new with Three Protocol.
Newest Updates
3Pay Launch
First on the update front is 3Pay. 3Pay is Three Protocol’s payment gateway. One of the few areas where crypto has true product market fit is cross-border payments. Often with stablecoins. So naturally, 3Pay is taking advantage of what crypto can do and adding some cool features along with it.
For example, they will be using their native $THREE token as the basis for currency conversion. As much as we want to believe global adoption is right around the corner for stablecoins, they are still much less popular than payment methods like:
- Shopify Pay
- Paypal
- Venmo
- Wise
- Apple Pay or Google Pay.
So the goal is to meet people where they are. Use crypto rails for things like faster confirmations and no chargebacks, which merchants love. But then $THREE is the conversion currency between the buyer, who may be paying in dollars, and the seller who is based in India and needs rupees. This is a super smart way to use blockchain effectively while getting people on board as they become more comfortable and aware of how the tech works.
More ZKP Tech
Three is adding more zero-knowledge-proof technology across its platform and ecosystem. As we’ve said in lots of other articles here, zero-knowledge proofs allow you to show that you know something without revealing what that information is. For example, in the old game Where’s Waldo?, you can show you know where he is because you have a picture of Waldo cut out from the drawing. It does not reveal where he is in the drawing. Yet it does show that you know where he is because you have him in your possession. ZKP plays a big role for Three because if you want decentralized versions of apps like Upwork, Uber, or eBay, then you need decentralized forms of ID, too. Decentralized ID is a big part of what Three wants to bring to the community.
Plus, I think we all agree that to get true global adoption, we will need some privacy on public blockchains. Having pseudonymous addresses is not enough if you know how to track wallets with a block explorer.
AI for RWA
Three Protocol is also using neural network AI technology. The goal here is to use AI to assist with RWA platforms and with e-commerce platforms too. E-commerce is a big part of the overall plan with 3Bay, its decentralized eBay coming to market later this year. Here AI will assist with things like aligning reviews and product images and more sophisticated searches based on matching product features.

New Partnerships
Three Protocol has been busy on the partnership front, too. First is their partnership with Linq.ai. Linq is a small to medium-sized business-focused AI platform. Together, customers will be able to use SAAS tools, get help in generating new marketing campaigns, and do things like basic marketing SWOT analysis that many smaller businesses skip over, but shouldn’t.
Then another AI-based partnership, Three is partnering with Cluster Protocol too. This partnership includes more access to decentralized AI models as well as Cluster listing its job openings on the Jobs3 platform.

Conclusion
As you can see, Three Protocol is keeping busy. They know decentralized marketplaces can be challenging to build but the results are worth it to keep our data out of the hands of a very few big tech companies. The operational and tech advances of the 3Pay payment gateway and advanced zkp and AI technologies will make using Three’s marketplaces easier, faster, cheaper, and safer.
