Australia Crypto Donations

Bushfires are ravaging the beautiful continent of Australia. Here’s what the crypto community can do.

For example, turn to crypto donations.

Regrettably, an immense fire has engulfed the continent. As a result of it, millions of animals, including the rare koalas, are dead. Thousands of people have lost their homes. The country’s army is now helping to put an end to the horrible development.

Two days ago, a specialized BTC donation fund was set up to help Australia overcome the tragedy. In a tweet, Alex Saunders, CEO & Founder , calls on the crypto community to show the world the power of Bitcoin.

He adds, “All donations are going to the Rural Fire Service.” He also mentions the BTC address: 38gi89vKr7VPCcwdoY2coTha86rfDHeyAR

The suggestion has been supported by a number of high profile figures. Like Mattie Greenspan, founder of His tweet on the issue is succinct and reads, “Donate to Australian Fire Fighters with Bitcoin.”

Besides, it is also possible to donate, using altcoins. They include Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Binance Coin (BNB). The addresses stand as follows:

ETH: 0x2cc057d7e6a9c1e56397c147405142066e2b0d02

BCH: 1MhhFwyQmNfynWxfD9qnXGqRhFvzhc6Qjo

LTC: MA1tScyPucdR8qt8MNdUPCgNthyPwYencb

BNB: bnb165r4pxe862hetuz2l3wt4yx43uhh4ph9u0ptz6 MEMO: 682855254

According to the tweet, to date, the fund has secured $12,000 in donations. This sum can make a difference. For instance, even a $50 donation, according to WWF, can help plant 10,000 trees for koalas who are going extinct. It is also possible to buy more food for the exhausted firemen and volunteers.

At the end of the day, everything counts.

Is there transparency?

Understandably, many of us want to ensure that the funds reach their purpose.

According to Saunders, it is possible to track the total amount raised on Blockchain.com. In a tweet, he underscores, “Thousands have already been donated. For those wanting to track the total amount raised look at Total Received not final balance if you are using a blockchain explorer. Deposited coins may be moved to a cold wallet for security until we donate the full amount. Thank you.”

That said, keep in mind that the decision to donate is a private one. Thus, before sending the funds, do your own research and opt for whichever method works best for you if at all.

If you choose to donate in BTC or altcoins, make sure that the addresses match the ones above.

If you’re new to the crypto game but would like to start using it, consider — at your own discretion — registering on the crypto exchanges, like (NOTE: this is not an advertisement):

Binance.com

Coinbase.com

Poloniex.com

Pay attention to the jurisdictions where they operate and carefully read the terms and conditions. Alternatively, search for other methods.

And most importantly stay safe.

Lesia Dubenko
A warm hello from Ukraine! My name is Lesia, I am a journalist, writer, political scientist, and crypto enthusiast. Before joining AltcoinBuzz in May I knew nothing about crypto, I was in the dark (it was very gloomy indeed). I was all skeptic and suspicious. But then one day, probably in June-July when I was doing a podcast with James and Matt, I finally grasped the concept in full. That is when I truly started to enjoy it thoroughly. I am a big believer in crypto and blockchain. There is no doubt that it is the future. But be patient, it needs time, like a fine Chardonnay. However, if you want to know when the next bull run is happening, I highly recommend asking Luc Lammers. He will definitely spill the beans! xxx
