Nothing can stop Craig Wright in his giant bravado act of proving that he is the creator of BTC, Satoshi Nakamoto. The whole crypto-verse knows that all too well.

Who has not heard of Craig Wright? The man who claims that he is Satoshi Nakamoto has filed multiple lawsuits against who doubt his words. However, Mr Wright cares little and continues to seek ways of clinging onto his claim. Recently, he filed (not a lawsuit, surprisingly) copyright registrations for the Bitcoin white paper, the one which has the Satoshi Nakamoto authorship on it.

A news release claims that U.S. officials received confirmation that Wright is indeed Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright’s spokesman was quick to announce the news.

However, the Financial Times almost immediately discouraged Wright and his supporters. One of the leading financial newspapers in the U.K. pointed out that the U.S. Copyright Office simply registers, it does not verify the content or claims made within that content. Moreover, it does not investigate the identities of people registering for a copyright.

“In a case in which a work is registered under a pseudonym, the Copyright Office does not investigate whether there is a provable connection between the claimant and the pseudonymous author,” explained the Office to the FT.

That’s not all

Besides, the Office emphasized that the registration of the source code does not protect the intellectual property of BTC. If someone proves to the registration office that the content and the author are fraud, then it may as well cancel the registration. With so many crypto people eager to do that, it is arguably a matter of time before it actually happens.

What is peculiar in this situation is that nothing, literally nothing, is stopping Craig Wright. Nobody in the crypto community believes his claims, as they are poorly substantiated. Binance even de-listed BSV because of Wright’s behavior but that had little to no effect on him. He did, however, recently dub Binance a “super bucket shop” and John McAfee “a fraud.”

Then again, perhaps blind determination is the key to success?

Lesia Dubenko
A warm hello from Ukraine! My name is Lesia, I am a journalist, writer, political scientist, and crypto enthusiast. Before joining AltcoinBuzz in May I knew nothing about crypto, I was in the dark (it was very gloomy indeed). I was all skeptic and suspicious. But then one day, probably in June-July when I was doing a podcast with James and Matt, I finally grasped the concept in full. That is when I truly started to enjoy it thoroughly. I am a big believer in crypto and blockchain. There is no doubt that it is the future. But be patient, it needs time, like a fine Chardonnay. However, if you want to know when the next bull run is happening, I highly recommend asking Luc Lammers. He will definitely spill the beans! xxx

  1. Leslie – he has filed suit not against doubters, but against people who actively call him a fraud and thus open themselves to libel charges. Why are all the people he has sued afraid to face him a court of law?
