Bonk recently announced a key update for users of the Solana Mobile platform
This marks an important milestone for the Bonk community. It also highlights the evolving landscape of blockchain-powered mobile technology.
Saga owners who have not yet claimed their $BONK tokens need to act fast. The Bonk team revealed that the Saga BONK claim program will end on July 31, 2025. After this date, any unclaimed $BONK tokens will be returned to Bonk’s Decentralized Autonomous Organization, or DAO, for future incentives.
To put this in perspective, 17,599 out of 20,000 possible claims have been made so far, leaving fewer than 2,500 tokens unclaimed. This represents a strong uptake but also underscores that some Saga users might miss out if they delay. The Bonk DAO is the decentralized community-led group that governs Bonk’s ecosystem, so unclaimed tokens will be redirected to support future growth and rewards for the community.
Solana designed Saga as its first generation mobile device specifically for Web3 applications—software built on blockchain technology that gives users more control and privacy compared to traditional apps. The $BONK token was part of a unique incentive to encourage Saga users to engage with Solana’s mobile ecosystem.
If you own a Saga device, now is the time to do so through the $BONK app in the Solana Mobile store. The Bonk team has also advised users to be cautious of phishing links and to seek help. Only through the official BONK Ecosystem Discord channel.
The Solana Mobile Hackathon is now live and will run from July 1 to August 4, hosted by Radiants. This exciting event offers a total of $100,000 in prizes spread across 10 winners, along with Seeker phones, opportunities for dApp placements, and a $5,000 bonus prize for the best $BONK integration.
Submissions close just as more than 150,000 Seeker devices begin shipping on August 4, giving builders a unique chance to reach crypto-native users directly through the latest blockchain-powered mobile hardware.
