Wireless Networks
1) Helium
Helium is leading with the MOBILE Network, a decentralized 5G network. It performs beyond expectations, contributing 90% of Helium’s total earnings. It has over 965 K subscribers and has transacted 27.1 TB of data.
With the approval of HIP 130, Data-Only MOBILE Hotspots are now earning $MOBILE for data transfers. Helium even peaked for weekly Data Credits (DC) burned in September. This shows the growing demand for its decentralized network.

2) Dabba Network
Dabba Network is changing India by installing low-cost, high-speed WiFi networks in uncovered areas. They assist in enhancing Internet access in areas of convenience since they have deployed 1,600 WiFi hotspots.
29,000 devices connect to the WiFi hotspots. The target is to reach 150,000 local cable operators to incorporate the plan.

3) DAWN
DAWN is all about decentralizing wireless internet services. They allow users to share internet access in regions with unavailable traditional infrastructure. DAWN provides cheap internet for under $10 a month. It also gives token holders 12% of on-chain revenue in areas where they have stakes.
DAWN has already run tests with 3,000 homes in New York City, bringing in $1 million. DAWN is one to watch, with plans to cover 3 million U.S. households. They raised $18 million in a Series A round led by Dragonfly Capital and other prominent investors.

Mapping Networks
4) Hivemapper
Hivemapper is taking mapping to the next level by decentralizing the entire process. Drivers with dashcams collect location data as they drive and receive $HONEY tokens as payment.

Problems Facing Solana DePIN Projects
Here are a few fundamental issues Solana DePIN projects need to solve:
- Keeping Up with Token Rewards: Keeping users interested in token rewards can be costly, leading to money waste if not handled well.
- Community Overexcitement: Getting the community involved matters, but too much excitement can backfire, leading to expectations that they can’t meet.
- Legal regulations: DePIN projects have to work with rules like any other decentralized initiative.
Looking Ahead
The Breakpoint 2024 conference will take place in Singapore on September 21ST, focusing on Solana. The event promises to be essential in shaping the future of DePIN on Solana.

Conclusion
Solana DePIN projects are leading the way forward. These projects solve real-world problems using decentralized infrastructure, from wireless networks to decentralized mapping.
