How Will Michael Saylor Raise $21B to buy BTC?

Already the world’s largest public corporate Bitcoin holder, Strategy currently holds 499,096 BTC, worth about $41.2 billion.

Now, with its new “ATM Program,” the company is looking to expand its holdings even further. What is Michael Saylor thinking?

Strategy Secures Sales Agreement to Fund Bitcoin Acquisitions

On March 10, Strategy announced a new sales agreement allowing it to issue and sell shares of its 8% Series A perpetual strike preferred stock. The goal? To generate fresh capital for general corporate purposes—including, most notably, Bitcoin acquisitions.

Under the ATM Program, Strategy is to sell these shares in a disciplined manner over an extended period. The timing will depend on the trading price and volume of the stock. The company made it clear in its SEC filing that a big chunk of the funds raised would go straight into Bitcoin.

This move aligns with Strategy’s aggressive approach to accumulating BTC. The company has already been busy in 2025, purchasing 52,696 BTC since January 13 across six public acquisitions. With Bitcoin trading at $82,972, the firm’s holdings have grown by 6.9% year-to-date.
