Ripple Payments Boosted by RLUSD Integration for Global Use

This integration further drives RLUSD’s adoption and the growing demand for Ripple’s enterprise solutions.

RLUSD is a USD-denominated stablecoin designed with trust, utility, and compliance at its core. It’s backed by Ripple’s vast experience in both crypto and traditional finance. Since its launch in December 2024, RLUSD has rapidly gained traction. It has $250 million in market capitalization and marking a significant milestone for the asset’s adoption.

RLUSD Enhances Ripple Payments for Faster Cross-Border Transactions

RLUSD’s integration into Ripple Payments means that Ripple can now offer a more efficient and scalable solution for cross-border payments. Ripple Payments, which processes billions of dollars in volume, is now powered by RLUSD for select customers, including cross-border payment providers BKK Forex and iSend. This enables faster and more cost-effective cross-border treasury operations.

What sets RLUSD apart from many stablecoins is its focus on enterprise utility rather than retail use. This allows it to deliver improved speed and efficiency in global payments. Ripple’s extensive payout network with near-global coverage further. It will enhance the utility of RLUSD in the cross-border payment ecosystem.

The adoption of RLUSD is gaining momentum. Since its launch, the stablecoin has seen strong demand, with nearly $10 billion in trading volume and a market capitalization nearing $250 million.

RLUSD Expands to Major Exchanges, Strengthening Ripple’s Global Reach

Ripple is continuing to work with high-profile partners around the world to extend RLUSD’s availability, with exchanges like LMAX Digital, Bitstamp, Zero Hash, and Bullish already supporting it. Most recently, RLUSD became available on Kraken, one of the longest-standing crypto exchanges, broadening access to retail users.

“We’re seeing the market cap continue to grow, outpacing our internal projections,” said Jack McDonald, SVP of Stablecoins at Ripple. “In short order, RLUSD is being used for several use cases, including as collateral in both crypto and traditional finance markets. We’re also actively working with NGOs to streamline giving through stablecoins.” Ripple’s continued efforts to integrate RLUSD into Ripple Payments expand the variety of stablecoins available for cross-border payments, further cementing Ripple’s role as a leader in the financial infrastructure space.
