XRP ETFs Narrow $160M Gap on Solana as October Flows Split

XRP ETF net assets sit $160 million behind Solana's, per SoSoValue. Solana funds fell on six of seven October days as XRP kept a 13-week inflow streak.

US spot XRP ETFs hold $1.57 billion in net assets against $1.73 billion for the US spot Solana ETFs, a gap of $160 million, according to SoSoValue. That distance has been shrinking for weeks, and the October flow tables show both forces at work.

The figure is not a flow. Net assets are the market value of what the funds hold, so they move twice: once when investors buy or sell, and again when XRP and Solana change price. In the week ended Oct. 9, those two forces pointed in opposite directions for XRP.

Solana Funds Fell on Six of Seven October Sessions

Solana's US ETFs took $24.81 million in net outflows in the week ended Oct. 9, their first negative week since June, ending a 14-week streak of inflows. All five sessions ended below zero.

Farside Investors' Solana flow table shows how the month has gone:

Session

Net flow

Oct. 1

-$1.1 million

Oct. 2

+$1.3 million

Oct. 5

-$9.2 million

Oct. 6

-$3.7 million

Oct. 7

-$4.8 million

Oct. 8

-$3.5 million

Oct. 9

-$3.8 million

Oct. 12

-$700,000

Oct. 2 is the only positive day. Six of the seven October sessions through Oct. 9 were negative, and the new week opened on Oct. 12 with another small outflow. The heaviest single day was $9.2 million out on Oct. 5, which is where most of the week's damage was done.

XRP Added Money and Still Lost $90 Million of Assets

XRP ETFs took in $11.31 million in the week ended Oct. 9, a 13th consecutive week of inflows, lifting cumulative inflows since launch to $1.80 billion. The money arrived in two sessions: $3.14 million on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and $8.17 million on Thursday, Oct. 8. The other three sessions recorded no net flow at all.

Net assets went the other way. They fell to $1.57 billion from $1.66 billion the previous week, a loss of about $90 million across a week with no negative day. That is what a falling XRP price does to a fund's book value, and it is why the $160 million gap is better read alongside price than flows alone.

Scale matters here. The $11.31 million week is about 7% of the remaining gap, so inflows at that pace would need roughly 14 weeks to close it, with Solana frozen. Solana is not frozen: its $24.81 million outflow week narrowed the gap without a single dollar of XRP buying.

What Would Widen the Gap Again

The gap closes when XRP takes in money faster than Solana, or when Solana's price falls harder. It reopens if Solana's funds return to inflows while XRP's streak stalls. Solana ran 14 straight positive weeks before this one, so the gap was built by exactly that pattern.

One addition sits outside the US tables. Pando Finance listed Hong Kong's second spot Solana ETF on Oct. 13, giving investors another route to Solana exposure that will not appear in the SoSoValue or Farside readings above.

The measurable test is straightforward. Another negative week for Solana in the tables, set against a 14th positive week for XRP, means the $160 million gap keeps shrinking for flow reasons rather than price ones.
