XRP Exchange Wallets Added 84 Million Tokens in Three Days

Exchange-attributed wallets added 83.94 million XRP in three days to reach 22.06 billion, XRP Insights data shows, and the figure is not tradable float.

XRP Ledger wallets attributed to exchanges took in 83.94 million XRP over three days this week, lifting the total tracked by XRP Insights to 22.06 billion XRP across 699 wallets at 24 exchanges.

If you hold XRP, the number that matters is not the 84 million. It is the 22.06 billion, and what that figure is not. Those tokens are not 22 billion coins stacked on an order book waiting for a seller to hit. The tracker's own notes are blunt about this: an exchange wallet shows that XRP sits with an exchange, not who owns it or whether it is for sale.

XRP traded near $1.32 to $1.34 on Oct. 15, the day of the latest reading.

Three Days Added 83.94 Million XRP

The three daily same-wallet changes were 17.75 million XRP on Oct. 13, 35.21 million on Oct. 14 and 30.98 million on Oct. 15, 2026, according to the tracker's daily dataset. They took the tracked total from about 21.973 billion to 22.057 billion XRP between roughly 08:00 UTC on Oct. 12 and 08:01 UTC on Oct. 15.

The same 699 wallets at 24 exchanges were measured at each step, with none added or excluded for coverage changes, so the rise reflects the same set of wallets rather than a wider net. XRP Insights reports two windows over those wallets: a gain of 82.35 million XRP, or 0.37%, over the seven days to Oct. 15, and a fall of 1.37 billion XRP, or 6.32%, over 30 days. The seven-day figure overlaps the three daily gains, so the two cannot be added together.

Why 22 Billion XRP Is Not 22 Billion for Sale

Exchange wallets are omnibus accounts. They pool many customers' XRP, and at some firms the cold wallets also hold institutional custody balances that never reach the order book. Of the 22.06 billion XRP tracked, 10.86 billion sits in cold wallets, 3.09 billion in hot wallets and 8.11 billion is unclassified.

Some of the total is not customer money at all. The tracker flags 480.2 million XRP as reserves rather than deposits: 325.8 million backing Binance-Peg XRP on BNB Chain, 143.3 million in Coinbase wallets backing cbXRP on Base, and 11.2 million in an insurance fund and a charity wallet.

There is also no official count of XRP on exchanges. Every published number is a sum over a set of wallets that someone attributed to exchanges, and those sets differ. The same question produces figures from roughly 1.6 billion XRP to more than 22 billion.

The 30-Day Change Turns Positive Once Uphold Is Excluded

Strip out Uphold and the 30-day picture flips. XRP Insights says about 1.5 billion XRP left Uphold's long-tracked wallets for newer ones between Sept. 14 and Sept. 26, 2026, an internal storage move rather than customer withdrawals. Excluding Uphold, the 30-day change is a rise of 37.3 million XRP, or 0.18%, instead of a 1.37 billion XRP fall.

The same tracker shows why a jump in the total is not always buying. On Sept. 9 and 10, 2026, 595 newly labeled wallets entered tracking and the measured total went from 15.55 billion to 21.91 billion XRP. That was a change in coverage, not an inflow.

The method is built to avoid that trap. XRP Insights compares only wallets tracked at both ends of a window, so newly tracked wallets never count as inflows. It reads balances from the XRP Ledger itself, once a day at about 08:00 UTC, using rippled account_info on the latest validated ledger, and attributes wallets with XRPSCAN labels only. If a read fails, it carries forward the last value. Transfers between tracked and untracked exchange addresses can move the measured total without a single customer trading.

Where the 22.06 Billion XRP Sits

Upbit holds the most: 6.44 billion XRP, 29.2% of the tracked total. Coinbase is next at 5.84 billion, or 26.5%, and Binance at 2.76 billion, 12.5%. Binance also recorded the largest weekly increase among the largest venues, adding about 54.6 million XRP in the Oct. 8 to 15 window.

At 22.06 billion XRP, the tracked wallets hold about 32% of XRP's circulating supply of 68.59 billion and about 22% of the 100 billion total supply.

The next daily read lands at about 08:00 UTC. On its own, a larger total says XRP moved into wallets attributed to exchanges. It does not say anyone sold.
