XRP Price at a Crossroads: Can Bulls Break $1.55?

XRP is trading near $1.38 after its August rally, with bulls defending $1.35 support while facing resistance at $1.43 and $1.55.

XRP is entering September at a critical technical junction. After surging from its summer lows to nearly $1.70 in late August, the token has cooled and is now trading around $1.38.

The next move could depend on whether XRP can reclaim key resistance above $1.40 while defending its long-term moving average support near $1.35.

With U.S. jobs data and Federal Reserve policy expectations also in focus, XRP bulls now face a crucial test.

XRP Price Faces Key Resistance at $1.43

XRP's immediate challenge sits between $1.41 and $1.43.

Reclaiming this zone would strengthen the short-term structure and potentially put the larger $1.55 resistance level back in focus. XRP attempted to break through that area on August 31 but failed to establish a sustained move above it.

A successful break above $1.55 would therefore represent an important shift in momentum after the recent consolidation.

For now, however, XRP remains caught between resistance overhead and support underneath.

$1.35 Is the Key XRP Support Level

The $1.35 level is arguably more important for XRP's short-term structure.

The 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) is positioned around $1.35, making it the key bull bear line for the current setup.

Holding above this level would allow the broader recovery structure to remain intact. However, a sustained break below $1.35 could weaken the Q3 reversal and expose the $1.20 - $1.29 area.

That makes the current range particularly important. Bulls need to defend $1.35 while pushing XRP back above $1.43 and eventually $1.55.

XRP Demand Gets Support from ETFs and Exchange Outflows

Technical levels are not the only factor supporting the XRP setup.

Spot XRP ETFs recorded more than $110 million in weekly net inflows in late August, providing an additional source of institutional demand even as broader market conditions remain uncertain.

Exchange supply has also been moving in a potentially supportive direction. Recent data showed XRP's average balance on Binance falling by roughly 500 million tokens from its previous levels.

That decline in exchange-held XRP can indicate that some market participants are moving tokens away from exchanges for longer-term holding, potentially reducing the amount immediately available for selling.

Institutional positioning is also becoming an important part of the XRP market. CME's share of outstanding XRP futures exposure has increased as overall futures positions outside the regulated exchange declined, suggesting that a larger portion of the remaining futures activity is moving toward a regulated venue.

Jobs Data Could Decide the Next XRP Move

Macro conditions could determine whether XRP breaks out or loses its support.

Markets are closely watching upcoming U.S. non-farm payrolls and unemployment data. Weaker than expected economic data could strengthen expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts, potentially improving liquidity conditions for risk assets such as cryptocurrencies.

On the other hand, persistent inflation concerns and elevated Treasury yields could continue to restrict liquidity and make it harder for XRP and other altcoins to sustain a larger rally.

That leaves Federal Reserve policy expectations as one of the biggest external factors for XRP's next move.

What Comes Next for XRP?

The setup is relatively straightforward.

A move above $1.43 would give bulls the first confirmation that short-term momentum is returning. From there, XRP would need to clear $1.55 to reopen the path toward higher levels.

On the downside, $1.35 is the level bulls cannot afford to lose. A sustained move below it could shift attention toward $1.20-$1.29.

For now, XRP remains in a consolidation phase after its sharp August rally. The next major move will likely depend on whether buyers can reclaim resistance while holding the $1.35 support and whether upcoming U.S. economic data gives the broader crypto market a reason to move higher.
