Remixpoint Sells Dogecoin at a Loss as Japan Firm Shifts Crypto Holdings to Bitcoin

Japan listed Remixpoint sold its DOGE, ETH, SOL and XRP holdings, taking a small Dogecoin loss while shifting its crypto strategy entirely toward Bitcoin.

Japan listed Remixpoint has sold its holdings of Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Dogecoin as it moves toward a Bitcoin focused crypto strategy.

The company booked gains on three of the four altcoins, but Dogecoin (DOGE) was the only losing position.

Remixpoint sold 2.8 million DOGE on September 1 for about $234,000, around $21,000 below the token's fiscal-year opening book value. By comparison, the company realized gains of approximately $379,000 on Ethereum, $311,000 on Solana and $72,000 on XRP.

Together, the four sales generated roughly $742,000 in gains.

Remixpoint Sells Altcoins to Focus on Bitcoin

Remixpoint said it sold all four altcoins after reviewing market conditions and their risk-return characteristics.

The company will now concentrate its cryptocurrency holdings on Bitcoin (BTC).

The decision leaves Remixpoint holding approximately 1,506 BTC, worth more than $115 million based on Thursday's prices. Bitcoin is now the company's only remaining cryptocurrency holding.

The move highlights a growing corporate preference for concentrating digital-asset exposure in Bitcoin rather than maintaining a broader basket of cryptocurrencies.

Dogecoin Was the Only Losing Position

The DOGE sale stands out because Remixpoint's other altcoin positions were profitable.

Importantly, the reported DOGE loss is not measured against Remixpoint's original purchase price. It compares the sale value with the book value assigned to the position at the beginning of the company's current fiscal year.

Why Dogecoin's Loss Matters

The DOGE sale is notable because Dogecoin has become an established cryptocurrency in Japan.

DOGE has been available on registered Japanese crypto exchanges since 2022. Japan's recognized crypto industry self-regulatory body, the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association (JVCEA), also began publishing an official DOGE/JPY reference price this year.

Despite that market presence, Remixpoint decided that Bitcoin offered the more attractive risk-return profile for its corporate crypto holdings.

Bitcoin Becomes Remixpoint's Sole Crypto Bet

Remixpoint's strategy is now considerably more concentrated.

With approximately 1,506 BTC worth more than $115 million, the company has effectively turned its crypto treasury into a Bitcoin-only position.

The shift also means future changes in Remixpoint's cryptocurrency holdings will be driven primarily by its view of Bitcoin rather than a diversified basket of major altcoins.

For the company, the message is clear: after realizing gains on ETH, SOL and XRP and taking a small loss on DOGE, Remixpoint is betting on Bitcoin as its core digital asset.
