Top metaverse platform Bloktopia now has a weekly publication detailing important updates in its activities. The publication dubbed Developer Diaries will help carry its users along while giving them a transparent view of Bloktopia’s progress.
In a previous article, we covered the first three Bloktopia Developer Diaries (Developer Diaries #1, #2, #3). This second part will cover the updates listed in Bloktopia’s Developer Diaries #4, #5, and #6. The metaverse is becoming one of the most sought-after spheres, it is, therefore, necessary to remain informed of happenings in this fast-blooming ecosystem.

Hand Movement in VR – Developer Diaries #4
Developer Diaries #4 builds on “VR Networking” which is listed in Developer Diaries #3. The hot topic covered in Developer Diaries #4 is “Hand movement in Virtual Reality”. As disclosed in the first part, creating Avatar movements for non-VR avatars is fairly easy, the same cannot be said for Avatar movements in Virtual Reality (VR). This is because we would need avatar movements to be natural or emotional. So while Developer Diaries #3 concentrated on facilitating avatar movement that will feel real to users, Developer Diaries #4 will focus more on the hand capabilities of a VR avatar.
According to reports, hand movement in VR will be made possible using Oculus Quest 2. The technology will create an immersive ultimate realistic environment. Furthermore, providing users with hands that can be seen, and can perform functions like moving, holding on to things, wiggling fingers, etc. In general, the idea is to make hand interaction as real as possible.

Lip Syncing and Full Body Movement – Developer Diaries #5
This feature is still very much in the works. This feature was explained by Bloktopia’s CMO, Paddy Carroll avatar in a recent AMA. The AMA took place on August 9, 2022, at 12 pm (UTC).
Avatar lip sync and full body movement will also build upon Bloktopia’s VR and hand movement feature. Furthermore allowing avatar jaw movements and other micro-expressions.
Interestingly, avatar lip syncing will be done using audio received from Oculus Quest headset and microphone. This audio is then synced to the avatar’s face.
Edit LDN Artwork – Developer Diaries #6
Developer Diaries #6 highlights Bloktopia’s partnership with The Edit LDN. The Edit LDN is mostly an online retailer. The partnership will make it possible for Bloktopia users to buy the Edit LDN NFT sneaker for their avatars.
Apart from this, the entire partnership is a major milestone achievement for Bloktopia. In a blog post, the VR platform disclosed that the partnership holds boundless possibilities and benefits for Bloktopia’s ecosystem.
The Edit LDN boutique is mirrored according to the Harrods department store in London, UK. The store interior is quite small so some of the items were made to be smaller than their real-life counterparts. With Unity, users and visitors to the store will be able to move around when shopping for digital NFTs. Furthermore, providing them with unique luxury and immersive experiences.
