Solana Network Transfers Surge 33% in September, Leads Stablecoin Volume

Solana's own account says the network carried 557 million stablecoin transfers in September, up 33%, as stablecoin supply set a $17.5 billion record.

Solana's official account said the network led all chains for stablecoin transfers in September, posting that it carried 557 million of them, up 33% from August, an average of about 18.6 million a day. The post attributed the count to Blockworks data.

That number is a flow, the dollars moving across the chain. Next to it sits a September record of a different kind, a stock: the dollars sitting on Solana at any moment, ready to trade, lend or send. Solana's own payments roundup puts stablecoin supply on the network at a record $17.3 billion on September 25. A separate September roundup gives the month's peak as $17.51 billion, and Solana's news index repeats the higher number.

Solana Records More Stablecoin Transfers

For September the network published:

  • 557 million stablecoin transfers, up 33% from August and about 18.6 million a day, in the account post, which cites Blockworks data
  • stablecoin supply of $17.3 billion on September 25, and $17.51 billion across the month
  • 888,000 daily stablecoin active addresses, up 269% from 333,000 a year earlier
  • 420 million USDC transactions in the month
  • 6.2 million addresses sending USDC over 30 days, which Solana calls 42% of everyone sending USDC anywhere and 2.5 times the next network
  • $37.51 billion of stablecoin loan volume, 81.7% of the cross-chain total it tracks
  • 3.18 billion non-vote transactions on the network

Solana Took 76% of Tracked x402 Payments

The growth story in both posts is automated payments. Solana says it processed 23.2 million x402 transactions between August 22 and September 19, or 76% of the transactions tracked, against 3.39 million on the next-largest network. Read that as a share of one tracker's count, not of all payments in crypto.

Payment Channels, OUSD and a Samsung Wallet Date

The rest of the September case is infrastructure. Payment Channels went live on September 3, and the mechanism is narrow: an agent authorizes a spending limit once, spends against it and settles the amount once. In testing, Solana says 100,000 unique wallets ran through a payment channel proxy issuing more than a million payments per second, enough capacity for over 80 billion payments in 24 hours at an estimated $0.000000000776 per payment. Test capacity is not live demand.

Two payment products also arrived. OUSD went live on Solana at the end of September with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY, which we covered when it launched. Column, the FDIC-insured bank behind Brex and Slash, built stablecoins into its banking core so USDC and USDT on Solana convert to and from dollars around the clock, with Solana as the default network.

The item still ahead has a date. From the last week of October 2026, Samsung Wallet will support USDC cross-border transfers on Solana across 82 million US Galaxy devices. Solana's index also lists $684 million of tokenized equity for September and a settlement program for financial institutions, Solana DvP, announced on October 6.

What Solana's Transfer Growth Means

The September figures strengthen the case that Solana is becoming an important network for stablecoin activity. Higher transfer counts, record stablecoin supply and new payment infrastructure all point to an expanding ecosystem.

The next question is whether this activity translates into sustained demand from businesses and everyday users. Transfer growth can include automated transactions and trading-related movements, so the mix of activity matters as much as the headline number.

For now, Solana's September performance highlights the network's growing role in moving stablecoins. Continued growth in real payment use, alongside stablecoin supply and active-user data, will help show whether the trend can last. Read: Hong Kong's Second Solana ETF Lists as US Funds Shed $24.8M
