Bridge's OUSD Stablecoin Goes Live on Solana and Three More Chains

Bridge's Open USD went live on 30 September on Solana, Ethereum, Base and Tempo. Solana supply reached 18.01 million OUSD across 47 wallets.

Open USD (OUSD) went live on 30 September. The stablecoin is issued by Bridge, a Stripe company, and launched on Solana, Ethereum, Base and Tempo. On Solana, token data from Solana Compass showed 18.01 million OUSD in supply. It sat across 47 wallets at 19:24 UTC that day.

The same data put USDC on Solana at 7.86 billion across 9.31 million holders. That snapshot came two minutes later.

Reserves are held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY. Attestations are published monthly at reserves.bridge.xyz/ousd, per Open Standard's launch post. Open Standard is an independent company founded by Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa, Stripe's newsroom says.

Mint and Burn Are Free, the Fee Sits Elsewhere

Businesses can mint and burn OUSD 1:1 for dollars at no cost. Open Standard says all paths support that conversion at no charge.

Stripe describes the same split. Converting between dollars and OUSD is free. Open Standard charges "a small, predictable transaction fee" instead, its post says.

Stripe Treasury accounts can be funded with OUSD from crypto wallets on Tempo, Base, Ethereum or Solana. Fiat funding runs through ACH, SEPA and wire transfers. On Stripe, OUSD sits alongside existing stablecoin options rather than replacing them.

Mastercard Routes Distribution Through BVNK

Mastercard completed its purchase of BVNK on 3 August 2026. It is integrating OUSD into the BVNK platform. That gives banks and businesses access to the token alongside fiat and other stablecoins. The completion release framed the deal around interoperability across fiat and digital currencies.

Jorn Lambert is Mastercard's chief product officer. He said stablecoins "are increasingly addressing real-world needs in areas like cross-border B2B payments, remittances, payouts, settlement and treasury flows."

At launch, businesses could build with BVNK, Stripe and the Visa Stablecoin Platform. Coinbase followed on 1 October, per Open Standard. The token is native on all four chains. It starts on Coinbase, Kraken and Uniswap, with more venues to be added.

Solana's Stablecoin Base Grew Before OUSD

Solana Foundation puts stablecoin supply on the network at $17.4 billion, up 18.8% year over year. It says the number of addresses moving stablecoins weekly has more than doubled over the same period. The median transaction fee is around $0.0013.

Jamal Raees is its general manager of payments. He said Solana has processed more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume this year. The foundation lists Western Union, Visa, PayPal and Fiserv among the enterprises using it. The Solana mint is ousd2mJsPEckLHcSCDxyKD7NDGARZcfLbDZkKiatYHB. It uses Token-2022, the standard the foundation says PayPal, Fiserv and Western Union used to issue regulated stablecoins on the network.

Two Assets Trade as OUSD, So Check the Address

Origin Protocol's Origin Dollar is an older yield-bearing stablecoin. It also trades as OUSD and is unrelated to this one. The official contract addresses are:

  • Base: 0xB2000000000000000000002fEb517dFeC7415344
  • Ethereum: 0x9f6F3991D525015a6F8CaF062C83b62fD3AC4436
  • Solana: ousd2mJsPEckLHcSCDxyKD7NDGARZcfLbDZkKiatYHB
  • Tempo: 0x20c0000000000000000000006a37DA5C996874BE

OUSD Is Not in Europe's MiCA Register

As of 1 October 2026, OUSD was not registered as an e-money token in the EU's MiCA register. EU-regulated venues could not legally list it for European customers. Article 50 of MiCA prohibits interest on e-money tokens. EU-based holders would not receive reserve yield even after a registration.

The launch numbers are small next to the network they landed on. That is 47 wallets against USDC's 9.31 million holders on Solana. The distribution rails now behind OUSD are the part that can change that count. Supply data is where the change shows up first.
