3 Altcoins to Watch in October’s Third Week 2026: AKE Unlock, Quack AI Futures and Monero's $600 Test

Akedo unlocks 2.11 billion AKE on Oct 21, Quack AI's rally ran on futures, and Monero retests the $600 to $635 zone. What decides each move.

Three altcoins head into the middle of this week with one clear test each. Akedo Games (AKE) releases about 2.11 billion tokens on Wednesday, October 21. Quack AI (Q) more than doubled its market cap on trading that came mostly from futures, not spot. And Monero (XMR) is back near the $600 to $635 zone where it stalled twice in September.

Here's what sits behind each setup, and which level or event decides it.

Akedo's 2.11 Billion AKE Unlock Lands Wednesday

The unlock releases 2,107,800,000 AKE on October 21, worth about $62.42 million. CryptoRank's tracker lists it as the week's largest single unlock, and it makes up most of the roughly $94.88 million due on October 21, the busiest unlock day of the week.

The weekly total depends on who's counting. One tally of six unlocks reaches about $157 million, a tracker that counts only cliff unlocks puts it near $126 million, and the broadest count runs to roughly $337 million.

How Big Is 2.1 Billion AKE?

It depends on the base you measure against. AKE has a total supply of 100 billion tokens, so this release is 2.1% of everything that will ever exist. Measured against the roughly 22.8 billion AKE in circulation, it's about 9.25%, which matches the 9.25% of market cap that trackers cite using a market cap of $680 million to $700 million.

Tokenomics.com shows the same unlock as 4.5% of market cap, which implies a larger valuation base. So the headline percentage you see this week tells you as much about the method as about the token.

There's a second wrinkle. The schedule shows 47.2% of supply unlocked, yet only 22.8% circulates. That leaves 24.4% unlocked but not yet in the market. An unlock makes tokens available to their owners; it doesn't mean they reach an exchange the same day.

Who Receives the Tokens

Investors get 47.4% of this release, the community 30.5% and insiders 22.1%. Investors hold 25% of total supply on a three-month cliff, a waiting period before anything releases, followed by 24 months of linear vesting. Early contributors (15%) and advisors (5%) sit on a six-month cliff and 42 months of vesting.

The full schedule runs from August 21, 2025 to August 21, 2029 across 49 unlock events, with 35 still to come. No official schedule could be found on Akedo's own site or documentation, so these figures come from third-party trackers.

What Past Unlocks Did to the Price

The record isn't kind. After the September 21 unlock, AKE fell 48.9% within nine days. After the August 21 release, it dropped 21.9% in seven days. Across tracked unlocks, the average move was a 25.6% decline over about eight days.

AKE recently traded at $0.02956, with a market cap near $673 million. That's the bottom of a $0.029 to $0.037 zone that has capped every rebound since late September. Whether $0.029 holds once the new tokens are free is the number to watch.

Quack AI's Rally Ran on Futures, Not Spot

Q's market cap jumped from $300 million to $633 million without any specific fundamental catalyst behind it. Quack AI builds an intent-based execution and gasless authorization layer, but nothing on the product side was tied to the move.

The trading data tells a clearer story. On October 18, Q's futures volume reached 25.7 times its spot volume. Open interest, the value of outstanding derivatives contracts, reached 64% of the token's market cap. In other words, leveraged traders set the price, not buyers holding the token.

Shorts Paid for the Squeeze

Traders betting against Q took the damage. More than $8.912 million in short positions were liquidated over 24 hours, against $2.322 million in longs. The largest single liquidation was $97,870. A narrower count covering Binance and Bybit puts short liquidations at about $8.4 million.

When a short is liquidated, the exchange closes it by buying the token back, which pushes the price higher and can trigger the next short in line.

The Reversal and the Exchange Deposits

Then the move snapped back. Q wicked to $0.216 before sellers pushed it about 40% lower. Its RSI, a momentum gauge, sat near 87, a reading that shows how far and fast the run had stretched.

Tokens were also moving toward exchanges. Gate's hot wallet received 13.82 million Q, worth about $1.80 million, and millions more went to a Bitget deposit address. Deposits make selling easier, but a transfer alone doesn't prove anyone sold.

Chart analysis published this week marks $0.10 as the trend level and $0.054 as support. What decides Q's next leg is simple to state: whether spot buying shows up to replace the leverage that built the rally.

Monero Tests the Ceiling That Stopped It Twice

Monero rose about 6% on October 18, from roughly $570 to an intraday high near $608. That extended a rebound from about $516 on October 11 and took XMR to its strongest levels in several weeks.

The zone it's approaching has history. XMR failed near $610 on September 18 and near $635 on September 22. Yet each pullback ended higher than the last, first near $490 and then at $516. That's a pattern of rising lows pressing into a fixed ceiling.

Prices quoted for October 19 and 20 range from about $590 to $605, and those figures haven't been checked against a primary price feed.

Positioning and the Peter Brandt Factor

Coinalyze data shows about 63% of tracked accounts holding long positions. A crowded long side can add fuel to a breakout, or add selling if the ceiling holds again.

Veteran trader Peter Brandt called XMR his favorite chart in an October 6 post. He didn't issue a $600 prediction or confirm that he'd opened a position, so headlines leaning on his name are stretching what he said.

One trait of Monero matters more than any single post: its limited availability on some centralized exchanges. With fewer venues to absorb orders, price moves can be amplified in both directions.

A clean move above $635 would clear September's high. A drop back below $516 would break the run of higher lows that has carried XMR since early October.
