3 Reasons Crypto Markets Will Still See a 2025 Altseason

If you think the altcoin market is dead, you might want to watch this first. There are three upcoming catalysts that could completely flip the crypto landscape. Most people aren’t even ready for it. These aren’t hype narratives or moonshot dreams. Instead, the next altseason might already be forming beneath the surface.

Everyone’s watching Bitcoin’s every move… but they’re missing something massive. There’s a quiet pattern forming across the altcoins, that almost no one’s talking about, but not all the altcoins, so make sure you watch the last section of this video that talks about the sure shot pump altcoins. If you’ve been losing hope for an altseason, this might be the perspective shift you need.

De-leveraging Phase Clears the Way for Fresh Altcoins Momentum

We all remember October 10th too well. Bitcoin dropped around 20% and most altcoins had wicks down to 80%. Some of those wicks were brutal. See the picture below. However, many altcoins were heavily oversold versus Bitcoin. So, this recent deleveraging or market-purge event can act as a catalyst for the next leg up.

Some sources state that 50% of all altcoins have been wiped out. What this did is to force out various weak leveraged positions. In other words, such a reset can ignite the next step-up. It cleared weaker players, leaving healthier market conditions for altcoins rallying. In 2020, we had Black Thursday. This was a very similar crash that opened the door for the 2021 alt season. However, the times they are’a’changing, as Bob Dylan famously said. And so are the times or conditions in the crypto sector. For starters, this means that not all altcoins will rally. During the last alt seasons, you could just throw some money at almost any coin and they would rally. Unfortunately, it looks like these days are over.

Instead, we will see a select few altcoins that will go parabolic. It’s important to do your homework and pick altcoins wisely. I will discuss my picks later in this video, so stay tuned. So, this alt season may be much more compliance-led and institution-driven. It’s not just speculative anymore. This indicates that the framework is shifting. 

The market may have cleaned out excess risk. Now it’s structurally more ready for a sustainable altcoin surge.

Bitcoin Dominance or BTC.D

There are other factors at work as well. Like, for example, Bitcoin dominance or BTC.D. This refers to the percentage of the total crypto market capitalization that belongs to Bitcoin. When we talk about “BTC.D” we’re essentially looking at how much of the total crypto market is invested in Bitcoin versus altcoins.

Currently, this is falling again. It’s now at 59.6%. If it falls below 54%, we could have an alt season at our hands. So, once it falls below 60 %, it often signals that capital is moving into altcoins. Thus, it creates conditions for an alt season. 

In short: if $BTC is no longer the sole “safe bet”, funds may seek higher-beta altcoins. It’s setting up a rotation play. Let me explain. What typically happens is that Bitcoin rallies. At some point, profits from $BTC start to rotate to altcoins. First into $ETH, and from there into other altcoins. 

However, as already pointed out, during this alt season, I expect not all altcoins to rally. There will be a selected few. In a moment, I will discuss some of the altcoins that could have a good run.

Real-World Adoption, Infrastructure Growth, and Institutional Interest Are Accelerating

Projects that were previously speculative are now gaining real use-cases. 1 You can say that many altcoins are still at “a generational bottom” relative to Bitcoin. However, there’s noticeable growth in areas like,

• DeFi
• Layer-2 scaling
• Tokenization of real-world assets or RWAs 

These are major tailwinds for the altcoin sector.

Put simply: as infrastructure improves, altcoins become less of a speculative gamble. Instead, they become more of a growth investment.  In turn, this supports the idea of a broad altseason. Think of infrastructure like, 

• Faster chains
• Cheaper transactions
• More institutional-ready assets
  

We see, for example, the success of the $BTC and $ETH ETFs. I lost track of how many new crypto ETF filings have been made. Institutional interest is growing. The big players like BlackRock are pivoting towards crypto. Especially RWAs and crypto ETFs have taken their interest. 

So, with these 3 reasons out of the way now, let’s take a closer look at some of the altcoins that can still rally this year.

Which Altcoins will Perform Well?

Here are some of my altcoin picks for the rest of 2025 and its altseason. Be aware that I don’t have a crystal ball. However, I will give you some good reasons why I list these tokens. Do your own research, and all the best with picking the right altcoins for your portfolio.

Ethereum ($ETH)

Ethereum ($ETH) is riding institutional interest and ecosystem depth. It’s positioned as a go-to for yield and utility rather than pure speculation. It shows recent price strength and critical support zones. $ETH is poised to benefit if the market rotates toward altcoins in 2025.

Solana ($SOL)

Solana shows a combination of ecosystem momentum and institutional interest. That institutional demand and robust on-chain growth support $SOL’s near-term setup. If resistance clears, we can see a break-out towards $300 to $360.

Cardano ($ADA)

Cardano combines research-driven infrastructure, adoption momentum and favorable technical setups. Its price is still relatively low and there’s a forecasted upside. $ADA is well-positioned if altcoins rotate into value and infrastructure plays in 2025.

Sui Network ($SUI)

Sui Network ($SUI) is an emerging Layer-1 infrastructure. It has high technical breakout potential. Since September 2024 it has been a great performer. There’s also growing institutional interest in Sui. $SUI could see good gains in a broader altcoin upswing.

Ripple ($XRP)

$XRP benefits from institutional and regulatory tailwinds. This includes major treasury accumulation and payment-use-case expansion. Currently, $XRP remains consolidated. However, the upcoming catalysts could trigger meaningful upside in a broad alt-season.
