4 Top RWA Altcoin Gems for the Crypto Bull Run

Real-World Assets or RWAs are the hottest trend in crypto right now. The RWA sector went up by 10.3% over the last 24 hours. This brings its market cap to $41.4 billion. Over $17 billion flowed into the RWA sector during the last 30 days. However, projections for 2030, range between $10 and $30 trillion. That’s only five years from now.

Larry Fink is also a big believer in RWAs. He’s BlackRock’s CEO. That’s the biggest investment firm in the world. These guys don’t tend to get things wrong that often. Institutions are lining up to get into RWA projects. They don’t want to be left out on the sidelines. So, here are four RWA altcoin projects with massive potential.

Ondo Finance ($ONDO)

With Ondo Finance ($ONDO) we’re looking at the top RWA altcoin project in this sector. It’s fair to skip Chainlink and Stellar in this list. They provide infrastructure for the RWA sector. By the way, Ondo means ‘wave’ in Esperanto and Ondo’s logo represents a wave. 

Stablecoins are currently also a hot item in the US. Legislation for stablecoins is under way. The US Treasury wrote a report about stablecoins and their relation to TradFi markets. Stablecoins can reshape global demand for short-term Treasuries. In this report, the US Treasury observed something about tokenized government securities. They can;

“Cater for investors’ yield-seeking behavior in the Digital Assets ecosystem. They have the ability to optimize their cost of capital with instant settlement.”

Now, as it happens to be, Ondo is active in this market. To be precise, with their $USDY and $OUSD stablecoins. Both are tokenized assets and backed by short term US Treasuries.  But that’s not all. Ondo has more in the pipeline. For example,

• Ondo bridge — this is already live. Currently, it connects Ethereum, Mantle, Arbitrum, and very recently, also Solana.
  

Ondo chain — coming up. Their custom build L1, POS, RWA chain, capable of handling all RWA related functions. For example, multichain and compliant.

Ondo Global Markets — in the pipeline. This unlocks access to a wider universe of tokenized US securities like stocks and ETFs. This is part of their Wall Street 2.0. Initially, this is not available in the US. However, with current regulatory development changes, anything is possible.

Plume Network ($PLUME)

Plume Network ($PLUME) is next on my list of today’s RWA altcoin projects. In contrast to $ONDO, the top dog in RWA, Plume has a medium range market cap.  $ONDO’s market cap is $2.9 billion. On the other hand, $PLUME’s market cap sits at $353 million. That’s an 8x difference. In other words, Plume offers higher potential returns. However, it is also a higher risk investment.

But let me first take a look at what Plume Network is all about. First things first, and Plume’s testnet is about to be retired. This means that Plume’s mainnet is imminent. Its launch could be later this month or in June. For example, the Plume Ecosystem X account just went live. So, once we get the official announcement, we can expect a pump coming in.

Binance also listed $PLUME. However, only on the perpetuals market, not on the spot market yet. This does give traders control over $PLUME’s price action. In the last 2 months, the $PLUME price action was between 15 and 19 cents. With an ATH of 24.75 cents, it stays within this ATH range.

However, vesting is an issue with Plume. See its tokenomics. Its Foundation vesting started on day 1. But investor vesting starts in July. This is a rather unusual set up and, for top tier protocols, not very common. Nonetheless, the mainnet announcement and the next leg up of this bull run, could level this out. Clearpool ($CPOOL)

The next RWA altcoin project on this list is Clearpool ($CPOOL). Clearpool is the first decentralized credit marketplace. However, instead of standard overcollateralized lending, Clearpool offers undercollateralized lending. So, Clearpool looks at how strong a project is and if it is capable of paying back the loan. It’s more in line with Web2 lending protocols. Furthermore, it makes capital use more efficient. 

If Clearpool can make this work, it will be very exciting indeed. So far, it has managed to generate $784 million in loans. However, besides this, Clearpool also launched Ozean. This is a Layer 2 for RWA. It’s compliant and you can earn native yield. For example, it offers a unified compliance layer. This makes sure that there’s regulatory compliance across the platform. That’s important to onboard institutions.

Ozean is available for retail and institutions, so that is a good start. It also offers two different stablecoins.

1. $USDX, this is their native stablecoin and their gas token. Hex Trust issued this stablecoin. This is a well-established company in various parts of the world. For instance, if you stake $CPOOL, one of the rewards is part of the revenue generated by $USDX.
   

$ozUSD, this is a yield-bearing stablecoin. It also has a rebase feature, which allows it to burn supply, to maintain the price. Lock $USDX and receive $osUSD.

Furthermore, Ozean launched Port, the first RWA exchange-traded pool. Ozean also has a Pre-Deposit Campaign going on. If you deposit specific assets, you earn Droplets. Once mainnet launches, you can convert the Droplets into $CPOOL. Some assets also have multipliers. Check out this recent video about Clearpool.

Polytrade ($TRADE)

Last but not least, Polytrade ($TRADE) is the last RWA altcoin project for today. With Ondo, we had a high market cap project. Both Plume Network and Clearpool are in the mid-market cap range. However, with Polytrade we have a real RWA gem in our hands. Its market cap is only $7.8 million. High risk, but also potential high returns.

Polytrade offers an RWA marketplace. Here you can find tokenized assets like,

• Invoices
• Bonds
• Loans
• Collectibles
• Real estate, and more.

Polytrade seems to focus on real estate. And for good reasons. There’s $379 trillion in global real estate. However, you can only find less than 0.01% onchain. Fractional ownership is one of the key features in RWA. In other words, you don’t need to buy the whole shebang, but instead, you can buy as much as you can afford. A fraction, so to speak.

In April 2024, the $TRADE token saw its current ATH at $3.03. With the current $TRADE price at 19 cents, that’s a far cry from that ATH. However, it’s up 7% on the day. The total supply is 100 million tokens, and 41 million already circulate. $TRADE has a low trading volume. So, let’s see if this next leg of the bull run can change things around for Polytrade.
