5 Altcoins to Buy NOW After Genius Act Crypto!

Imagine you wake up and some of your fave altcoins have a 300% price increase. The reason for this? The US government added new crypto laws. One of these new laws is the Genius Act. This is a historic milestone, not only for stablecoins, but also for altcoins. Make sure that you don’t sleep on the Genius Act. Smart money is already moving fast.

This new law is for stablecoins. However, it can also ignite explosive growth for altcoins. Find out what the Genius Act is all about and which 5 altcoins can profit from it.

What Is the Genius Act?

President Trump already signed the Genius Act last Friday, and it’s now a real law. According to a White House statement, it is long overdue legislation. For the first time, stablecoins have a Federal regulatory system.

It ensures their stability and trust through strong reserve requirements. All stablecoin issuers must back their coins 100% with liquid assets like $USD or short-term Treasuries. It’s also transparent. Issuers must publish monthly public disclosures of how their reserves are composed. Their marketing must follow strict guidelines. For example, they can’t claim that the US Government backs their stablecoins.

Furthermore, it aligns stablecoin frameworks on State and Federal level. This is important since it ensures that there’s consistency across the US. The Act also offers consumer protection in case an issuer becomes insolvent.

But here is the kicker for crypto. Existing stablecoins and their networks have a big advantage starting out. They already have everything in place.

So, having clear rules for stablecoins could reduce, among others,

  • Counterparty risk.
  • Improve liquidity.
  • Streamline on- and off-ramps for trading digital assets that aren’t stablecoins.
When Can the Genius Act Be Implemented?

The Act can be implemented, either,

  • 18 months after the date of the enactment (July 18, 2025). This means January 18, 2027.
  • Or in 120 days. This needs the primary federal payment stablecoin regulators to issue final rulemaking implementing the Act.

So, the most realistic is January 18, 2027. This may give an additional boost to affected coins and projects in due time.

Another important date is July 2028. It is against the law, once the law is in place for three years, to issue a stablecoin in the US. By that time, you have to be a ‘permitted stablecoin issuer’ that meets the Act’s requirements. So, the Act is now law. However, it will take time to lay out all required rails. Nonetheless, issuers need to be fully compliant by July 2028.

So, now let’s look at some altcoins that will benefit for the Genius Act. They already have the internal rails set up, to accommodate this law.

Sui Network ($SUI)

The Sui Network has already integrated major stablecoins into its ecosystem. For example, there’s native $USDC on Sui. This resulted in a massive stablecoin surge on Sui. The stablecoin supply on Sui did almost a 100x in only one year. Sui also sees ATHs in daily stablecoin transfers.

In turn, this boosted Sui’s DeFi ecosystem. Its TVL is also seeing new ATHs. That’s now well over $2.25 billion and growing. And one thing leads to the other, all this improves institutional interest in Sui. For example, 21Shares filed for a $SUI ETF.

Get ready for a new wave of new dApps and payment solutions on Sui. There should also be new partnerships on the horizon. Keep an eye out for it. So, what does this mean for the $SUI price? Today, the price is back to $4. Over the last 30 days it’s 46% up and over 1 year 377%. $10 is the first target, and $15 is not impossible.

So, Sui, and many others, have already all the rails in place. Now imagine your new Citibank stablecoin hits the market. Adoption will take time if it happens, as many non-Citi customers won’t trust it regardless. It also looks like all these coins will be custodied collateral based coins. Well, I got news for you. $USDT, $USDC, $USDS/DAI/Sky have already passed this test. Citibank and the likes have not.

Nonetheless, it still can be a successful coin for Citibank. It’s possible that Citi doesn’t use it for retail. Instead, Citi can use it internally to reduce its money transfer costs.

Stellar ($XLM)

Since the Genius Act passed, Stellar ($XLM)saw an increase in the supply and volume of $USDC. This month, Stellar saw a stablecoin increase of around $187 million, or 22%. During the same time frame, transaction volume is over $1.7 billion. That’s a massive 199% increase. These are some impressive numbers.

This raises institutional and corporate interest. Stellar is ISO 20022 compliant. This is a global financial messaging standard. It supports the integration of new financial tech, like crypto. Banks and multinationals will enjoy this for their payment flows. When TradFi onboards blockchain infrastructure, Stellar will have an edge.

Check our recent video on Stellar. It gives you an idea about Stellar’s payment and cross-border options. Stellar’s network offers, among others,

  • Cross-border remittances
  • Corporate payouts
  • Fintech integrations

Major firms that are looking for a chain for their own stablecoin might pick Stellar. The $XLM price sure shows strength. It’s now at 84 cents and almost doubled during the last 14 days. Over 1 year, it’s up by 364%. $1.50 or $2 should be targets for the next leg up.

Polygon ($POL)

Polygon ($POL) has been a long-term and dominant Layer 2 for stablecoins. You can find many major stables on Polygon. For example, $USDC and $USDT. It offers efficient, fast, and low-cost transactions. Furthermore, Polygon is compliant, something that’s important to institutions.

Polygon changed from its familiar $MATIC token to $POL. This is in line with the Genius Act’s need for compliance. It also offers better scalability options. Validators can now secure various Polygon chains. This meets cross-chain requirements by the Act.

Furthermore, Polygon can cater to institutional use cases. For instance, it offers the Polygon CDK, a staking hub, and ZK proofs. All under one roof.

The current $POL price is 25 cents. It’s up by 38% over the last 14 days. $POL had a hard time, but going back to its ATH of $1.29 is a 5x from here.

Cronos ($CRO)

Cronos ($CRO) is part of the crypto.com family. So, Cronos is the crypto dot com blockchain. As it happens to be, there are plans to launch their own stablecoin in Q3. So, that’s any moment now. Cronos also rolled out its V2, which makes it 10x faster and 10x cheaper. So, this helps to play into institutional cards who look for compliant chains.

We see this institutional interest manifest in launching a Cronos ETF during Q4. The general DeFi ecosystem of Cronos will also see a boost. Integrating regulated stablecoins will increase its TVL.

The $CRO price surged by 52% over the last 14 days. Today’s price is 12 cents. Going back to its 96 cents ATH, is a 6x from here.

Sky ($SKY)

You may know Sky ($SKY) better as Maker DAO. It rebranded about a year ago to Sky. So, Sky already offers the $USDS stablecoin. The Genius Act gives clear legal guidelines. This makes it easier to interact with this stablecoin.

Sky has a decentralized design and is active in DeFi. It aligns with the new standards, and it has been around since 2018. These are good indicators for getting accepted into the Act.

The $SKY price saw less price action compared to the other altcoins I picked today. However, keep an eye out for it. The current $SKY price is 8.5 cents. Its ATH was 10 cents, so the question really is, how much higher will it go above this ATH?
