Binance Bitcoin Outflows Hit Three-Year High on Stablecoin Inflows

Binance sees Bitcoin leave in largest weekly outflow since 2023.

It looks like Bitcoin is moving out of Binance. There is a busy week for the exchange's wallets. In the fourth week of September, net outflows passed 23,000 BTC. That is the highest number in over three years.

You might expect this to look like traders leaving. But the money is not going out of the ecosystem. It is arriving at the exchange in the form of stablecoins. That is a choice to reload rather than exit.

The Move is Larger Than a Single Week

Data from onchain analytics platform CryptoQuant shows that in the seven days through Sept. 27, Binance's net outflow reached 23,137 BTC. On a weekly basis, that marked the largest outflow since June 2023, when its BTC balance dropped by 44,942 in a single week.

"Withdrawing BTC from an exchange is a longer-term investment behavior, and therefore a positive signal"

CryptoQuant's take turns the usual reading upside down. Most people would see a withdrawal as fear. This one looks like a decision to hold for the longer run.

The Dry Powder is Building Up

Whale entities increased their rolling 30-day stablecoin inflows to Binance by 40% between Aug. 15 and the end of September. That is a rise from $21.7 billion to $30.5 billion. Stablecoin supply on exchanges is considered "dry powder" waiting for deployment into cryptoassets. Increasing balances suggest mounting interest in increasing capital exposure.

This change in behavior comes after a long lull. Before this run, their inflows had receded from the October peak, when they exceeded $61 billion.

It is a patient kind of buildup. You do not load cash while you are ready to spend. You load it because you intend to, soon.

What Comes After the Range

BTC/USD has traded in a range between $82,500 and $87,400 since Sept. 21. With the 2026 yearly open at $87,570 still overhead as resistance, that range is the current test.

CryptoQuant says the accumulation, combined with fading sellers, could be enough to push Bitcoin out of this consolidation phase fairly quickly.

History does not guarantee the future, but it offers a mirror. In June 2023, BTC/USD went from $26,300 to $30,500 in the weekly candle that followed the Binance outflows.

One detail is still open. The source says the dry powder is for "cryptoassets" and "capital exposure" generally. It does not confirm that this cash is specifically aiming for altcoins. That remains the question for anyone watching the next move.
