President Trump’s announcement of a Strategic Crypto Reserve set the crypto market on fire. The altcoins he mentioned went flying.
This is the news that crypto needed. So, let’s look at this and what it means for the market and altcoins.
It has only been a month ago that David Sacks announced a crypto workgroup. Part of this workgroup’s task was to investigate a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR). This did put the chances of an SCR and altcoins on hold. Until yesterday.
In Trump’s first announcement yesterday, he mentioned an SCR. In this post, he mentioned three altcoins, $XRP, $SOL, and $ADA. An hour later, he posted again, now also mentioning $BTC and $ETH.
You can imagine what this did to the price of the mention altcoins and Bitcoin. Right, they started flying.
On 1st March, President Trump announced that he will host the first White House Crypto Summit. This will be on 7th March, this Friday. Among the attendees, you can expect, prominent founders, CEOs, and investors from the crypto industry. We can expect more news during this summit, since David Sack will chair this summit.
And where does this leave an SBR? Brian Armstrong’s first reaction was that an SBR is still the better option. He’s the co-founder and current CEO of Coinbase. Many will agree with him. Even Peter Schiff, a notorious anti-Bitcoiner and gold maxi, agreed on this. So, the last word on this reserve has not been said yet.
With this new development, it looks that the five mentioned coins will keep going up in price. However, there may be temporary dips. For example, when this news starts to fade and gets replaced by other news. For instance, macro news. Trump generated plenty of that recently, and it’s likely that this will continue.
However, whenever the SCR takes the spotlight, prices will go up again. So, for the long term, wait for some dips. They can turn out as good entry points. But in general, in the long term, these coins should do well.
This also means that the whole market will most likely follow suit. See Plan B’s S2F model (stock to flow). In a questionnaire on X, 78% of participants, expected a V-shaped $BTC recovery. So, that’s exactly what is playing out now. This means that we can expect new ATHs for Bitcoin.
So, there are now two other groups of coins that are of interest.
The most likely coins that I expect in the SCR are coins that are part of WLFI treasury. So, keep an eye out on,

President Trump has announced a Crypto Strategic Reserve consisting of Bitcoin and other top cryptocurrencies. This is consistent with his week-one E.O. 14178. President Trump is keeping his promise to make the U.S. the “Crypto Capital of the World.” More to come at the Summit.
