Cronos has announced a new feature that allows users to withdraw funds seamlessly to a personal prepaid card
Users can link their Web3 wallet on Cronos to a Crypto.com card. From there, they can top up funds in just one click. If a token isn’t supported, the platform converts it to USDC or ETH.
“With this new feature, Cronos users can off-ramp their crypto assets almost instantly and spend them wherever prepaid cards are accepted,” said Ken Timsit, Head of Cronos Labs. “By eliminating the usual wait times and multiple steps involved in cashing out, Cronos is bringing DeFi closer to everyday life.”
Crypto.com’s President and COO, Eric Anziani, echoed the excitement: “This collaboration highlights Crypto.com’s commitment to driving mass adoption of blockchain services by simplifying the user experience. We’ve been longtime supporters of Cronos, and launching this feature together furthers our shared vision of mainstreaming crypto and enhancing its utility.”
Typically, converting crypto to fiat involves multiple steps. Such as transferring to a centralized exchange and waiting for bank transfers to clear. This new feature cuts out the hassle. This will allow users to off-ramp crypto directly into their Crypto.com prepaid card, making the process as smooth as butter.
The service is available on both Cronos EVM and Cronos zkEVM. Thanks to Cronos zkEVM’s direct bridge to Ethereum, Ethereum users can also enjoy this service.
Looking ahead, Cronos plans to introduce an automatic transfer system for DeFi yields. This will enable users to route staking rewards and other earnings directly to their Crypto.com prepaid card. This will integrate decentralized finance even further into daily financial activities.
