Chromia Unveils Plug-and-Play Governance for EVM Projects

Developed by ChromaWay’s Dapp Studio, this new solution promises a customizable and user-friendly experience for decentralized governance.

Currently deployed on the testnet of Chromia, it also supports Base testnet, Also, it supports Ethereum’s Sepolia Testnet, and Binance Chain Testnet.

A Customizable Governance Layer

Sharing the news on X, ChromaWay, and Chromi, CTO Alex Mizrahi explained that the tool showcases how Chromia’s relational blockchain can enhance dApps on EVM chains. The open-source library syncs token balances and other events from EVM chains, enabling on-chain voting without needing to bridge assets. This gas-free system is a game-changer for DAOs, DeFi platforms, and NFT ecosystems.

Because the module automatically detects EVM token balances and assigns voting power, projects don’t have to jump through hoops to move assets to Chromia for governance. Users can interact via a smooth interface, making proposals and casting votes without gas fees.

For EVM projects eager to implement decentralized governance, Chromia has provided a step-by-step deployment guide. While only a demo version is available for now, the tool’s configurability allows adopters to customize governance structures. It has multi-token support and tailored logic.

Governance remains a hot-button issue in crypto. Ethereum has its EIPs, Solana has Realms, and now, Chromia is throwing its hat in the ring with a flexible governance solution. The tool is expected to be battle-tested during Chromia’s Quest Season, giving the community hands-on experience with its governance UI.

Pushing Decentralized Governance Forward

However, Chromia isn’t the only player in this space. Aragon, Snapshot X, and Vocdoni have built governance frameworks with similar core features. But Mizrahi and his team are banking on Chromia’s no-gas model and multi-chain support. Also, high customization sets it apart from the pack. Here is a summary of what Chromia did in February:

Known for powering popular gaming dApps like My Neighbor Alice and Mines of Dalarnia, Chromia’s Layer-1 blockchain blends SQL technology with blockchain innovation. As the network gears up for its Mimir upgrade on March 25, it’s clear that Chromia is doubling down on scalability and usability—two things every crypto project craves.
