Ethereum’s highly anticipated Pectra upgrade has officially launched on the Sepolia testnet
The Sepolia upgrade is a major step in the process, but there’s still some work to do. Ethereum’s team had already activated Pectra on the Holesky testnet on February 24. Unfortunately, the upgrade failed to finalize, leaving developers scratching their heads. As a result, there’s a possibility that the mainnet launch could be delayed until these issues are fully addressed.
The Ethereum Foundation had previously confirmed that once both the Holesky and Sepolia testnets were successfully upgraded to Pectra, they would pick an activation epoch for the mainnet. But with the Holesky upgrade still not settled, the timeline for the mainnet release is up in the air.
An Ethereum whale made a big splash, purchasing 17,855 ETH for $36 million at an average price of $2,054. This latest buy adds to their massive Ethereum stash, bringing their total holdings to a staggering $2.53 billion.
The move signals strong confidence in Ethereum’s future as large investors continue to accumulate despite market uncertainties.
