Justin Sun’s Tron Ties Up with Nasdaq-Listed SRM

Justin Sun’s crypto platform, Tron, is making headlines again with a major deal that could change its future.

Tron’s Big Move: SRM Deal and U.S. Market Push

According to WSJ, Nasdaq-listed company SRM Entertainment announced a plan to buy Tron tokens. The company also plans to rename itself Tron Inc. and bring Justin Sun on board as an adviser.

This move signals the ambition of Tron to grow its presence in the U.S. market. It may also open the door for the blockchain network to go public through SRM.

What’s Behind the Deal?

SRM’s statement revealed a $100 million equity investment from an unnamed private investor. If all warrants are exercised, the investment could be valued at $210 million. This capital is intended to purchase Tron’s cryptocurrency, giving SRM a significant stake in the project. The funds will come from Tron itself. This means Tron could effectively be going public in the U.S. through a reverse merger with SRM.

A reverse merger is a way for private companies to enter public markets without the lengthy process of a traditional initial public offering, or IPO. This approach has gained traction recently among crypto firms looking to tap into U.S. investors. However, SRM’s statement did not clarify how Tron’s future operations or ownership would be structured after the deal closes.

The deal was arranged by Dominari Securities, a New York boutique investment bank. This adds another layer of attention given Sun’s existing ties to Trump’s crypto venture, World Liberty Financial. Sun increased his investment in World Liberty to $75 million in 2025, and Tron also lists USD1, a stablecoin issued by that venture.

A Complex Backdrop

Justin Sun’s journey has not been without controversy. In 2023, the U.S. SEC sued him for alleged fraud, though the case is currently on hold. His growing involvement with Trump-related crypto projects has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, especially as political opponents and ethics experts question the overlap between business and politics.

Despite these challenges, Tron remains a key player in the blockchain space, known for fast transactions and a wide range of decentralized applications. The partnership with SRM could provide fresh capital and access to new markets, helping Tron strengthen its position.
