As one of the first public blockchains to implement sharding on its mainnet, Zilliqa allows its blockchain to scale in a linear fashion as the network grows in size. Impressively, its mainnet was stress-tested recently and the network was easily able to handle 1,000,000 transactions in a day. This clearly demonstrates that currently, the Zilliqa Network is easily able to scale to 34X easily.
While Ethereum continues its struggle with the scalability challenges, Zilliqa is able to deliver a throughput of 2488 TPS. As a result, enterprises have started accepting Zilliqa as an enterprise-friendly blockchain. Recently, the project digitized the very rare whiskey collection which is now available on Hg Exchange (HGX).
Transitions decision making over to the community
In October 2020, Zilliqa partnered with Switcheo to build a non-custodial, decentralized exchange (DEX). Known as Zilswap, this will play a pivotal role to project Zilliqa as a leader in the DeFi space. Furthermore, on 4 February 2021, the team announced the launch of $ZWAP, Zilswap’s new governance token. Moreover, the token plays a major role in decentralizing the DEX’s network. That’s because it will hand over the decision making completely to the community.
Fixes a long-undetected bug
Apart from tokenizing whiskey, the Zilliqa team fixed a long-undetected bug in the transaction pool management. Furthermore, the bug was present inside miner nodes and would cause certain transactions to be dropped without getting confirmed.
2020 a year of massive partnerships
2020 proved to be a great year for crypto. Zilliqa fostered massive partnerships in the year as its strategic partner count went up from 38 to 65 between December 2019 to December 2020. Moreover, along with its partners, Zilliqa is incessantly building delivery solutions customized for enterprises.
ZIL price
While the project has been making big strides, the ZIL price is up only by 10% in the last 30 days. However, at the time of press, the ZIL token is trading a little over $0.08.
