Why Bittensor Subnets 62, 123, 120 Have Top Potential

Developers, traders, and infrastructure all meet at the heart of decentralized AI

Bittensor (TAO) has been on the radar of crypto and AI enthusiasts for some time now. One of the major factors for this demand is its decentralized network of subnets. Many see these subnets as a huge part of the future of artificial intelligence.

Instead of relying on a single model, Bittensor distributes workloads across specialized subnets. This means that each tackles a unique problem. We have a detailed article on Bittensor subnets and the top Bittensor subnets. Among the growing list, three have recently caught the market’s attention: Subnets 62, 123, and 120.

What are these subnets about?

Subnet 62, known as Ridges, focuses on creating specialized coding agents. These agents can fix bugs, write tests, and even generate production-ready code. The appeal is clear. Developers have an immediate and monetizable use case, and early signs of institutional backing suggest that Ridges is more than just an experiment. By addressing a real bottleneck in software development, this subnet could become one of the first within Bittensor to achieve consistent, external demand.

Subnet 123, called MANTIS, takes a very different approach. Its aim is to provide decentralized financial prediction, producing trading signals that can be packaged and sold as “alpha” to investors.

With strong interest already building around MANTIS, the subnet taps into a lucrative space where reliable data-driven insights can command high value. If it succeeds, it could position itself as a decentralized alternative to traditional quant firms, reshaping how market predictions are sourced and sold.

Subnet 120, known as Affine, may not sound as flashy, but it is arguably the most strategic. It serves as an infrastructure layer, connecting and composing multiple subnets to deliver AI inference out of the box.

By linking to established networks such as Chutes (Subnet 64), Affine acts as a bridge that ensures Bittensor can scale effectively. Without this kind of connective tissue, the broader ecosystem risks fragmentation.

Why are they important for investors

What ties these three subnets together is their clear utility. Ridges solves coding inefficiencies, MANTIS aims to monetize financial prediction, and Affine provides the infrastructure to scale decentralized AI. They already show signs of traction, both on-chain and from external partners, making them stand out from subnets driven purely by speculation.

For investors and developers watching Bittensor closely, the rise of these subnets suggests that the real value may not lie only in TAO, but also in the engines quietly powering its network.

Why the 3 subnets (62, 123, 120) have the biggest potential: SN62 – Ridges ➡️ Builds specialized coding agents (fix bugs, write tests, generate code). ➡️ Directly useful for developers = clear, monetizable product. ➡️ Already backed by funds = serious + traction. SN123 – Show more
