Stablecoins in 2025: Driving Adoption, Innovation, and Global Finance

Dune and Artemis Report: Stablecoin Trends and Insights 2025

Stablecoin trends are taking over the financial system. Stablecoins aren’t only growing—they’re reshaping global finance. The numbers? Dune & Artemis reported $214 billion in supply and $35 trillion in yearly transfers—double Visa’s annual volume. Let’s dive into the key stablecoin trends shaping 2025.

What’s driving stablecoin trends? Dune & Artemis’ 2025 report says stablecoins are enhancing global finance.

USDC vs. USDT

The top stablecoins, USDC and USDT, continue to rule the market yet proceed toward different development paths. USDC has achieved a market value of $56B by obtaining regulatory approvals from MiCA and DIFC. USDC’s partnerships with Stripe and MoneyGram drive adoption and institutional support.

The market value of USDT increased to $146B despite experiencing some market share decline. This practice targets P2P remittance services. Banks have limited reach in regions with weak financial infrastructure.

Decentralized Stablecoins are Booming

Centralized stablecoins aren’t the only ones making waves. Decentralized alternatives are surging. USDe from Ethena Labs became the third-biggest stablecoin after its value rose from $146M to $6.2B. Its secret? The system ensures appeal in any market using yield-backed stability and delta-neutral hedging. MakerDAO, now Sky Ecosystem, launched $2.6 billion in USDS. The goal is to create regulatory-compliant stablecoins and stay competitive in a changing market.

Where Are Stablecoins Flowing?

Several blockchain networks lead using distinct methods of operation. Ethereum holds 55% of the total stablecoin supply. Stablecoin transactions on Solana and Base occur because both networks operate robust decentralized finance networks and support memecoins. TRON has the leading position in P2P transactions and remittances as it handles daily billion-dollar transactions.

How Are Stablecoins Used?

CEXs hold the most liquidity, while DeFi protocols, including DEXs, lending, and yield farming activities, account for the most volume transfers. The cryptocurrency economy relies on stablecoins as an active feature that sparks innovation.

What Experts Are Saying

Industry leaders are weighing in on why stablecoin trends matter:

  • Dragonfly’s General Partner, HadickM, says, “Stablecoins serve as the fundamental components that enable crypto to access new markets and possibilities.”
  • Base’s Head of Product, Neodaoist: “Local currency stablecoins will make on-chain transactions more accessible to everyday people.”
  • Ethena Labs’ Conor Ryder: “The next-gen stablecoins must be resilient in all market conditions.”
  • Herd Eco’s Andrew Hong: “Stablecoins thrive where transactions are fast and cheap—like Solana with memecoins.”
  • Sam Elfarra from TRON DAO states that TRON remains at the forefront of stablecoin transactions, which facilitate genuine economic activities worldwide.

Conclusion

Stablecoin trends in 2025 reveal a clear shift. These assets offer stability in value and currently drive financial novelties worldwide. Institutional interest is increasing while DeFi platforms continue to thrive.
