Dynamix Merger to Launch $1.5B Ether Machine

Dynamix, a blank-check company, is preparing to merge with another undisclosed entity to form a new firm called the Ether Machine. According to WSJ, if approved, the combined company will hold more than $1.5 billion in ETH, instantly becoming one of the largest Ethereum-backed corporate treasuries in the world.

This move signals a major step in how traditional financial vehicles are being used to gain exposure to digital assets. And with Ethereum playing a growing role in decentralized finance, gaming, and tokenized assets, the timing could not be better.

A Corporate Bet on Ethereum

Blank-check companies, also known as SPACs (short for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies), raise money from investors to buy or merge with another business. They have no commercial operations of their own. Instead, they serve as vehicles to take private companies public quickly and with less red tape. Dynamix is using this structure to bring a major Ethereum-holding entity into the public market under a fresh banner: the Ether Machine.

While details about the merging partner remain private, sources close to the deal say the Ether Machine will serve as a long-term ETH treasury and investment vehicle. That puts it in the company of players like MicroStrategy, which famously holds billions in Bitcoin. However, unlike MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin-focused model, the Ether Machine aims to build on Ethereum’s broader utility.

The Ether Machine’s $1.5 billion ETH strategy reflects a broader shift in how institutional investors approach crypto. While Bitcoin has long dominated corporate treasuries, Ethereum is catching up fast, thanks to its growing use in smart contracts and tokenization.

Ethereum Treasuries: A Growing Trend

There are currently five companies holding over 100 ETH in their treasury, with a combined total of roughly 240,000 ETH—worth around $600 million. Leading the pack is SharpLink Gaming (NASDAQ: SBET) with 198,167 ETH, followed by Bit Digital (NASDAQ: BTBT) and BTCS Inc. (NASDAQ: BTCS), holding 27,623 and 14,600 ETH, respectively.

Smaller holders include Moss Ethereum (OTC: MSSGF) and Centaurus Energy Inc. (OTCMKTS: CTARF), with 317 and 137 ETH. These holdings were either self-reported or extracted from public filings.
