U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $72.54 million in net outflows on October 8, extending their withdrawal streak to eight consecutive trading sessions. The latest withdrawals added to a broader pullback from crypto investment products, with combined outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs reaching nearly $1 billion in October.

Ethereum Spot ETF Data October 9

According to data reported by SoSoValue, Ether ETFs have lost approximately $578.9 million in October through October 8. Across the eight-session outflow streak that began on September 29, cumulative withdrawals reached $641.3 million.

BlackRock’s Ether ETF leads the latest withdrawals

BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accounted for most of the latest daily outflows, losing approximately $71.1 million on October 8.

Other funds recorded smaller and opposing flows. Fidelity’s Ethereum Fund (FETH) attracted around $5.5 million in net inflows, while Morgan Stanley’s spot Ether ETF (MSSE) gained approximately $1.3 million.

These inflows were not enough to offset withdrawals from ETHA and other funds. The overall category therefore recorded another day of net redemptions.

The latest outflow follows a much larger withdrawal on October 6, when U.S. spot Ether ETFs lost $201.9 million, their largest single-day outflow in three weeks. That session marked the sixth consecutive day of withdrawals.

Crypto ETF outflows approach $1 billion

Withdrawals from Ether funds coincided with continued pressure on spot Bitcoin ETFs. Together, the two categories recorded approximately $986.3 million in net outflows during October through October 8.

Bitcoin ETFs accounted for about $407.4 million of the monthly total, while Ether ETFs contributed $578.9 million. Ether funds have therefore accounted for the larger share of withdrawals across the two categories during this period.

On October 8 alone, Bitcoin ETFs lost approximately $244.1 million, while Ether ETFs recorded $72.5 million in outflows. The combined daily withdrawal was around $316.6 million.

The figures indicate that investors withdrew more money from these funds than they added during the period. However, ETF outflows do not establish whether investors sold the underlying cryptocurrencies directly, moved to other investment products or shifted into cash.

Ether faces continued pressure as funds lose capital

Ether traded near $2,510 on October 9 after moving between approximately $2,409 and $2,540 over the previous 24 hours.

The continued ETF withdrawals add to a difficult period for Ether investment products. The eight-session streak began on September 29, following seven consecutive sessions that had brought approximately $850.8 million into the funds. Subsequent withdrawals have reversed a substantial portion of those earlier inflows.

The flow data shows sustained selling pressure on Ether ETFs, but it does not by itself determine ETH’s next price move. Market prices also respond to broader crypto sentiment, derivatives positioning and macroeconomic conditions.

Investors watch whether withdrawals continue

The latest figures leave Ether ETFs with eight consecutive sessions of net outflows and place combined Bitcoin and Ether ETF withdrawals close to $1 billion for October.

The next sessions will show whether the withdrawals continue or begin to ease. A reversal in fund flows could indicate renewed demand for regulated Ether exposure, while further redemptions would extend the current period of pressure on crypto investment products.
