U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded another day of heavy withdrawals on October 30, extending their outflow streak to five consecutive trading sessions. The funds lost approximately $155.85 million, with BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accounting for the largest share of daily redemptions.
According to data from SoSoValue, ETHA recorded $76.64 million in net outflows. The withdrawals came as investors continued reducing their exposure to U.S. spot Ethereum investment products.

The latest figures also show that selling pressure was not limited to BlackRock. Grayscale's Ethereum products and other funds recorded additional withdrawals, bringing the combined daily outflow close to $156 million.
BlackRock's ETHA leads Ethereum ETF withdrawals
BlackRock's ETHA experienced the largest single-day outflow among U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs on October 30, losing $76.64 million.
BlackRock's other Ethereum product, ETHB, recorded another $19.51 million in withdrawals. Together, the two funds accounted for $96.15 million, representing approximately 62% of the total daily outflows.
Grayscale also experienced significant withdrawals from its Ethereum investment products.
Its Ethereum Mini Trust (ETH) recorded $34.14 million in net outflows, while the Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE) lost another $21.51 million.
Other withdrawals included $3.33 million from Fidelity's FETH and approximately $720,000 from Morgan Stanley's MSSE.
The complete breakdown was:
Ethereum ETF | Net outflow |
BlackRock ETHA | $76.64 million |
Grayscale ETH | $34.14 million |
Grayscale ETHE | $21.51 million |
BlackRock ETHB | $19.51 million |
Fidelity FETH | $3.33 million |
Morgan Stanley MSSE | $0.72 million |
Total | $155.85 million |
The remaining five funds recorded no net inflows or outflows during the session.
Ethereum ETFs extend outflow streak to five days
The October 30 withdrawals marked the fifth consecutive trading day of net outflows for U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs.
The streak began on October 26, with the funds recording approximately $88.6 million in withdrawals. Outflows continued on October 27 and October 28 before increasing to $105.48 million on October 29.
The latest $155.85 million withdrawal was approximately 48% higher than the previous day's outflow.
Across the five trading sessions from October 26 through October 30, Ethereum ETFs recorded approximately $431.4 million in cumulative net outflows.
Despite the latest withdrawals, the funds have maintained positive cumulative net inflows since their launch. Their cumulative net inflows stood at approximately $12.29 billion after the October 30 session.
Total net assets across the 11 funds were approximately $13.22 billion, representing around 4.83% of Ethereum's market capitalization.
Ethereum ETF trading activity remains elevated
The latest withdrawals also coincided with substantial trading activity across the investment products.
Total trading volume for U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs reached approximately $847.96 million on October 30.
BlackRock's ETHA accounted for the largest portion, generating around $637.87 million in trading volume. Grayscale's ETH and ETHE followed with approximately $88.78 million and $39.42 million, respectively.
However, trading volume and net fund flows measure different things. Higher trading activity does not automatically indicate that investors are buying or selling more ETH through fund creations and redemptions.
The distinction matters when assessing institutional demand. Net flows provide a clearer indication of whether capital is entering or leaving the ETF products, while trading volume measures activity in their shares.
What do the latest outflows mean for Ethereum?
Five consecutive days of withdrawals suggest that institutional investors have been reducing their exposure to U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs. The latest session also shows that redemptions were concentrated in some of the largest products, particularly BlackRock's ETHA.
However, ETF outflows alone do not establish why investors are withdrawing or whether they are selling Ethereum directly in the spot market.
Investors may redeem ETF shares for several reasons, including portfolio rebalancing, risk reduction, changing market expectations, or reallocating capital to other assets.
The broader crypto market has also faced pressure following the recent Binance security breach, which triggered substantial liquidations and increased uncertainty across digital assets. However, the available ETF flow data does not establish that the Binance incident directly caused Ethereum fund withdrawals.
For now, the key figures to watch are whether the outflow streak continues, whether BlackRock's ETHA keeps leading redemptions, and whether other Ethereum investment products begin attracting enough capital to offset withdrawals.
Until then, the latest ETF data points to continued caution among investors in U.S. spot Ethereum investment products.
