Hashkey Capital announced the launch of the first $XRP Fund in the Asian market. Within 1–2 years this could also turn into an $XRP ETF.
Hashkey Capital plans to transform this into an ETF (Exchange Traded Fund). So, what is this $XRP fund by Hashkey Capital all about?
Ripple Investment will back the $XRP Fund launched by Hashkey Capital. This expands institutional access to $XRP in the Asian markets. No wonder Ripple wants to back this. The two companies state on X that they are;
“Exploring new investment products, cross-border DeFi solutions, and tokenization.”
This includes the possibility of launching a money market fund (MMF) on the XRP Ledger. Both companies are looking into more collaborations. The official name of the fund is HashKey XRP Tracker Fund or the “HashKey XRP Tracker”. It’s the first fund in the Asian market that tracks the $XRP performance.
Now, Hashkey already has two other tracker funds. These are Bitcoin ETFs and Ethereum ETFs. So, in other words, Ripple is in good company. Hashkey Capital sees this turning into an ETF within the next two years. This would open up even more institutional interest and access for $XRP in Asia.
Such a fund offers advantages to institutions. The $XRP fund provides them with regulated, institutional-grade exposure. At the same time, they don’t have to deal with the complexities of direct ownership, custody, or trading. Instead, Hashkey Capital will hold the underlying asset. Professional investors buy ‘shares’ in the fund. There’s no need for crypto wallets or any other on-chain activity by them.
Hashkey Capital points out that the XRP Ledger is faster and cheaper. When compared with other services, like SWIFT, the XRP Ledger wins hands down. This offers Asian banks, financial institutions, and other enterprises new options. Not to mention that Ripple is also working in the RWA sector. Tokenization of assets is one of the most promising crypto sectors.
