The Holonym Foundation has announced its acquisition of Gitcoin Passport to create the world’s largest Proof of Humanity solution
It plans to generate over 34.5 million zero-knowledge (ZK) credentials. This is more than triple the proofs offered by Worldcoin. This move positions Holonym as the top provider of privacy-focused onchain reputation and Sybil detection solutions.
As part of the deal, Gitcoin Passport will rebrand as Human Passport to reflect its evolution into a Proof of Humanity solution that empowers individuals to verify their identities without sharing sensitive personal data. By incorporating Human Key technology, the newly rebranded Human Passport will offer web3 users seamless data control and enhanced privacy.

With its Proof of Humanity Score securing over $200 million in airdrops and earning adoption from more than 110 partners. Its tools have been instrumental in combating Sybil’s attacks. So, it will ensure fair token distributions, and drive the adoption of decentralized identity solutions.
So, under its new name, Human Passport will integrate ZK technology to provide private onchain reputation capabilities, making it a centerpiece of the human.tech suite. With this upgrade, the platform aims to deliver a universal identity solution that blends security, privacy, and ease of use for web users worldwide.
