Is PLUME Network the Next ONDO Finance? 39x Potential Ahead

By now, I have called many times that RWA is currently the hottest crypto sector. It’s also likely to stay hot. Current projections for 2030 range from a $16 trillion to $30 trillion market. Larry Fink, BlackRock’s CEO, is a big tokenization fan. What else can I say to convince you?

However, today, I will look into a medium cap RWA project, Plume Network. It’s the up and coming, rising new RWA star. I will compare it with Ondo Finance as well. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s dive in.

What Is Plume Network ($PLUME)

Plume Network ($PLUME) is all about RWAs. It has some unique features that make it stand out. Plume is still in its testnet phase, but its mainnet is imminent. However, its $PLUME token TGE already took place in January 2025.

Ever since, Plume launched four important features. As there are,

Plume Chain

Existing Layer 1 and Layer 2 chains are not equipped for RWA requirements. These are scalability, security, and most importantly, compliance. Ondo also launched its own Ondo Chain during their recent Ondo Summit in NYC. Pretty much for the same reasons. 

The Plume chain is also the first full-stack Layer 1 blockchain. This accommodates their RWAfi or Real-World Asset Finance. This should bring TradFi to DeFi for retail. On the other hand, Ondo Finance caters to institutions. See Plume as a Robinhood 2.0 and Ondo as Wall Street 2.0. The good thing is that they already work together. More on this later.

Now, the Plume chain offers three features.

Arc — Tokenization Engine

This simplifies bringing RWAs onchain. For example, it offers compliance workflows. 

Passport — Smart Wallets

This allows you to store contract code with your EOAs. These are Externally Owned Accounts. This passport embeds custody and compliance directly into the wallet. This allows you to stake, collateralize, or integrate your RWAs into DeFi. The latter opens yield earning options. So, Passport offers a different infrastructure whilst staying compliant. Standard wallets don’t offer this.

Nexus — Data Highway

This offers efficient, real-time data integration. It unlocks various unique opportunities. For instance, you can bet on economic indicators or leverage tokenized luxury goods. For this it uses various oracles, like Supra, SEDA, or Oraichain. 

So, as you can see, this is all geared to retail. Ondo, on the other hand, offers two yield bearing stablecoins, $USDY and $OUSG. Ondo backs them both with short-term US treasuries. Check my recent Ondo video about how many $ONDO you need to become a millionaire.

Plume Network Ecosystem and Funding

Plume Network is still a young project. There were three co-founders, Chris Yin, Teddy Pornprinya, and Eugene Shen. So, for such a young project, it already has an extensive ecosystem. Plume currently boasts over 180 dApps and projects. That’s impressive. 

For example, Walrus, Sui’s storage solution, is one of them. Pond is one of their newest partners, that offers AI-Powered risk intelligence. So, Plume is active in acquiring new partnerships all the time. That’s a positive development.

Ondo Finance has been around since 2021. It currently has just under 100 projects in its ecosystem. Plume is one of them. So, it’s good to see that they partnered up. Ondo brings $USDY yield to Plume.

To clarify, Plume Network has its own $pUSD stablecoin. You can use this in Plume’s RWAfi ecosystem.

Now, if we look at Plume’s funding, it had two funding rounds. A seed funding round that netted $10 million. In its recent Series A, Plume managed to raise another $20 million.

However, the big news the other day was the YZiLabs investment in Plume Network. This was at an undisclosed number. What is of importance here is that YZiLabs is the rebranding of Binance Labs.As expected, this pumped the $PLUME price to a new ATH of almost 25 cents within days.

Ondo Finance raised $46 million in 2021 and 2022.

$PLUME Tokenomics

The current $PLUME price is 20 cents. There’s a max supply of 10 billion $PLUME out of which 2 billion circulate. That’s not too bad for a new project. 7% of the supply was for an airdrop. 

The current market cap is $391 million. After the YZiLabs announcement, $PLUME reached a new ATH of almost 25 cents, only a day ago. We saw some profit taking, that’s why the current price is at 20 cents. That’s no surprise, so it’s a good entry point.

However, vesting is not that great. Until January 2026 it’s fine, but after that expect some big unlocks. Other than that, the tokenomics look good. See the picture below for the $PLUME vesting schedule.

The current $ONDO price is 83 cents with a $2.6 billion market cap. Out of 10 billion $ONDO tokens, 3.1 billion circulate. So, it’s not that different to Plume. However, $PLUME with $ONDO’s market cap would put $PLUME at a $16 price, or a 66x. This proves $PLUMEs mid-cap gem status.

So, to recap, Plume Network and its $PLUME token should be on your radar. RWA is a super-hot sector with massive growth potential. Plume is the new shining star in this sector. If you want to be early, this is not too late!
