Then what is the use case? To fund builders, users, liquidity providers, and Ethereum public goods.
This means Linea will not have any real buying pressure or any real utility. Consensys is trying to address this by adding an 80% buyback and burn program. This means whatever gas Linea collects, it will use 80% of that to buy back LINEA tokens and burn them.
If Linea goes big, this could be a steady buying pressure. However, burning tokens does not necessarily lead to pumps.
The distribution is excellent. Notably, there are no VC allocations. This means LINEA can hold its value for a while. Also, 9% airdrop will be huge for us, as the initial circulating supply is limited to 22%.
Linea has claimed that LXP will not be the only criterion for the final airdrop amount. Nevertheless, you can expect 2 LINEA tokens for each LXP. Since the total supply of LXP is 2.62 billion and the total tokens available for airdrop is 6.48 billion, the calculation with 75% weightage gives 1 LXP = 2 LINEA.
The number can increase if Consensys decides to add more weightage to LXP. There is one additional step you can do. Ethereum is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and there is a Free commemorative NFT by the Ethereum Foundation.
