Monad Opens Airdrop Claim Portal, Urges Users to Stay Alert

Monad, one of the most talked-about blockchain projects in 2025, has officially launched its long-awaited airdrop claim portal.

Monad Opens Airdrop Claim Portal, Urges Users to Stay Alert

Co-founder Keone Hon marked the occasion with a strong message to the community: “Happy Claim Portal Day! But please, be careful.”

Hon’s announcement highlights both excitement and caution. As users rush to claim their tokens, Monad wants everyone to take things slow and stay safe from phishing scams. “There will be lots of imposter websites,” Hon warned. “Check where you are and how you got there before signing anything.”

Understanding the Claim Portal

This advice couldn’t come at a better time. Airdrop season has brought a surge in scam attempts, with cybersecurity firm SlowMist reporting a 45% increase in phishing attacks targeting wallet users in 2024. The official website for the claim is claim.monad.xyz, and it will remain open until November 3. Hon made it clear that there’s no need to rush—users won’t receive any bonus for claiming early. Instead, Monad encourages everyone to take their time and verify every step before signing a transaction.

The process uses Privy, a privacy-focused authentication tool. Users can prove wallet ownership by signing a message with their Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) or Solana wallets. Privy also allows for the optional linking of social accounts, such as Twitter or Discord, to confirm identity. Importantly, no funds move during this step—it’s just a cryptographic proof of ownership.

As a safety measure, Hon advised EVM users to switch to Monad Testnet before signing, ensuring only test tokens are involved. This practice minimizes risk and helps users double-check that they’re interacting with the right network.

More About the Monad Airdrop

Also, Keone Hon issued a public warning after discovering that scammers had purchased Telegram ads impersonating official Monad announcements. Hon explained that Telegram’s ad system allows paid posts to appear within a public channel — even one that usually only features messages from the project itself. “Crazy that Telegram will push content directly into a channel that otherwise only contains content from one party,” he said, confirming that Monad is working to have the fake ads removed.

He reminded the community that the only valid link for the claim portal is claim.monad.xyz, emphasizing that there’s no urgency to take action and the portal will remain open for three weeks once live. Hon also clarified that the claim portal is not open yet, urging users to triple-check all links and wait roughly 22 hours before visiting the official site.
