Monad Price Jumps 15% Amid StraitsX Stablecoin Plan

MON rose 15% in 24 hours as StraitsX planned a 2027 launch for XSGD and XUSD on Monad, but no source links the move.

MON was trading at $0.03181, up 15.00% over 24 hours and 32.40% over seven days, with $145.2 million in reported trading volume, according to CoinGecko. The move came alongside a StraitsX announcement, but the available evidence does not establish a link between the two.

MON traded between $0.02716 and $0.03444 over 24 hours, leaving it about 35.3% below its $0.04883 all-time high. A move back below $0.02716 would erase the reported daily gain. The wider seven-day range runs from $0.02380 to $0.03444, giving a second reference point below the current price.

Activity Rose Faster Than The Price

CoinGecko reported $145.2 million in 24-hour spot volume for MON. Its separate activity measure put the increase in volume at 226.60% from the previous day, indicating that the move came with heavier trading.

Perpetuals open interest, the value of outstanding MON derivatives contracts, stood at $188.2 million. That was about half of MON's reported $376.1 million market capitalisation. Derivatives volume reached 15.6 times spot volume, while eight-hour funding was positive at 0.0108%.

The heavy derivatives activity raises the risk of positions being unwound quickly. A drop below the $0.02716 daily low would weaken the price structure, while a sustained move above $0.03444 would set a new 24-hour high rather than recover the all-time high.

XSGD And XUSD Are A 2027 Plan

StraitsX announced on 1 October 2026 that it plans to issue XSGD and XUSD natively on Monad in early 2027. XSGD would be the first Singapore dollar-denominated stablecoin natively issued on the network, according to the company.

The plan remains subject to technical, regulatory and compliance requirements. It is not a scheduled launch already in operation, and StraitsX has not provided an exact release date. The company also said it intends to explore payment and settlement uses for the stablecoins, but those products would face further assessment and require regulatory approval, compliance work and partners before rollout.

StraitsX issues XSGD and XUSD through entities licensed as Major Payment Institutions under Singapore's Payment Services Act 2019. The company said the Monetary Authority of Singapore recognises both stablecoins as substantively compliant with its upcoming single-currency stablecoin framework.

StraitsX CEO and co-founder Tianwei Liu said XSGD on Monad could support new card and payment products within the company's existing compliance standards. Monad Foundation General Manager Keone Hon said payments and card settlement require fast, inexpensive infrastructure and that Monad is designed to meet those requirements while remaining compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem.

Monad’s Roadmap Adds Privacy Work

Monad separately published a post-quantum roadmap on 28 September 2026. It prioritised wallet protection, followed by consensus, staking, the EVM, proof infrastructure and an encrypted mempool.

Work has started on a post-quantum version of Cadence, Monad's consensus system. Its final migration priority is an encrypted mempool using batch threshold encryption. The design would allow a committee to decrypt selected transactions while keeping others encrypted until block inclusion, with the stated aim of reducing opportunities for maximal extractable value, or MEV.

Monad described 2028 to 2029 as the readiness window targeted by several organisations. That is a roadmap position, not evidence that every component will be complete by then.

The price case still rests on market data. MON had reached $0.03444 within its 24-hour range, but the announcement has not been established as its catalyst. Holding above $0.02716 would preserve part of the latest move; losing the seven-day low of $0.02380 would invalidate the stronger recovery structure.
